3 Lakeview - Portnoo

3 Lakeside is a modern 3 bedroom holiday home located in a small attractive development on the outskirts of Narin village in South West County Donegal.

The magnificent Blue Flag narin beach is less than 500m away. The holiday home name refers to Clooney lake which is just under 1km away. Even closer to the holiday home is the wonderful Narin & Portnoo Golf Links. The club house of this popular golf links is just 600 metres from the front door. It is considered one of the finest natural and scenic 18-hole links courses in Ireland, with sweeping views of Gweebarra Bay. The clubhouse has been completely refurbished in recent years and its new bar and restaurant is proving a big hit with members and visitors alike.

Narin Blue Flag Beach

The golf links is bordered by the fabulous blue flag Narin Strand. This wonderful sandy beach is over 3 km long - only a 3 min walk from the holiday home. Just 250 metres off the shore is Inishkeel Island. This historic island can be reached on foot at low tide by crossing a tidal sand bank. The low tide allows you around an hour to visit the sites, before walking back again. It is well worth a visit, with its early Christian churches, holy wells and beautifully decorated stone slabs.

The Dawros Peninsula

Narin  and its sister village of Portnoo  are small but attractive holiday resorts on the northern shores of the Dawros peninsula.   The Dawros Peninsula separates Gweebarra Bay from the Bays of Loughrosmore and Loughrosbeg and its landscape is dotted with numerous tiny lakes and a quilt of low hills. The countryside of purple heather, small patchwork fields, streams and gentle glens makes interesting terrain for the enthusiastic walker.  In addition to Narin Strand the peninsula has a number of fine beaches including Tramore near Rosbeg.

Just over 2 km from Narin Village is the Kilclooney dolmen, probably the best-preserved portal tomb in the country. The capstone is over 4m long and the structure is reckoned to date from around 3500 BC – making it much older than Stonehenge. Another historic site close to the village is Doon Fort -  an ancient circular stone fortress positioned on an island in the middle of Lough Doon. Although its walls are crumbling, the fort has been untouched for over two thousand years. The walls stand 5m high and 4m thick.

Narin is just 12 km east of Glenties and 8 km north of the heritage town of Ardara. Both these towns have a good selection of pubs and restaurants and hold festivals and other organised events throughout the year.  The Rosbeg/Portnoo Seafood Festival is held annually in late June.

The beautiful kitchen in the holiday home also features a dining area, breakfast bar and a seating area with sofa. The kitchen itself is fully equipped for a self catering holiday. Double glass doors lead out to a furnished decking area.
