A modern and beautifully furnished house in a superb location, nestled on the hillside in a beautiful country setting overlooking Sheephaven Bay, yet only a few minutes walk from the famous Harbour Bar and all of the other amenities in the village of Downings - including the beach and the championship Rosapenna Golf Course.

The Downings Area

The village of Downings is a very popular tourist resort and fishing port with lively pubs and night-life. It is situated on the beautiful Rosguil Peninsula. The natural landscape of this peninsula provides the basis for many of the activities that the visitor can enjoy. In addition to an abundance of golden sandy beaches there are many water based activities in the Downings area - including windsurfing, deep sea diving, sea angling and boat charters. There is also horse riding and hill walking. The Magherabeg Leisure Centre is located in Downings and features a swimming pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, and gym. 

On the doorstep of the holiday home you have the renowned Atlantic Drive. This is a scenic drive starting in Downings and continuing around the breathtaking Rosguil Peninsula. In the locality you also have the spectacular Lough Salt Drive.

Within 2 km of the holiday home there are two superb championship golf links at Rosapenna -  the Old Tom Morris Course and the recently opened Sandy Hills Course.  Within half an hours drive of the cottage there are two more challenging links courses – Portsalon and Dunfanaghy.

Local Attractions

Within a thirty minute drive of the holiday home there are numerous things to do and places to visit. You have the majestic Glenveagh National Park and the beautiful Ards Forest Park. The lakeside centre in Dunlewey has something for all the family. In Dunfanaghy there is a workhouse famine museum. Churchill has the famous Glebe House and Gallery as well as the Colmcille Heritage Centre. Letterkenny has all the amenities you would expect to find in a large town - cinemas, museum, theatre, leisure centres, art galleries and excellent shopping.  Tory Island and the ancient walled city of Derry are highly recommended day trips.

The kitchen is part of the spscious, open plan living area with a large dining table and chairs. There is a separate utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and a sink.

The house has a very large open plan living area with a glazed full high front window with 180 degrees panoramic views over Sheephaven bay and Muckish mountain. There is a 42 inch plasma TV with an extensive dvd library, books and board games. 

  Sunroom

There is also a sun lounge, off the main living area, which is furnished as a second living room - again with stunning sea views. This room has a 32 inch LCD TV and dvd player. The outside area has a patio to the rear which is accessed via the french door off the sun lounge. There are gardens to the front.
