Ardglass Cottages - Portsalon

Ardglass Cottages is a luxury  development featuring 5 superb modern holiday homes in the beautiful village of Portsalon in North West Donegal. These wonderfully spacious holiday homes are furnished and decorated to a very high standard.

The cottages are located on an elevated site and enjoy wonderful panoramic views of Lough Swilly and the Inishowen Hills. The large landscaped grounds surrounding the cottages are a safe playground for children.

Each cottage can accommodate up to 8 people in both style and comfort. There are four beautifully decorated bedrooms - two doubles and two twins.
The open plan area of the ground floor consists of  a fully fitted modern kitchen, a large dining area and a superb conservatory. On the the first floor there is a beautifully decorated and furnished living room.

Within the enclosed grounds, there is an indoor play area, an outdoor play area and a putting green.

Local Activities

Portsalons wonderful blue flag beach is less than a 10 minute walk from the cottages. Another 5 minutes walk bring you to the entrance to the golf links. Portsalon Golf Club has been extensively redesigned in the last few years and is now one of the finest links courses in Donegal.
The heart of Portsalon village is the pier area. Here you will find two establishments that will make your holiday stay an enjoyable one - Sarah's Restaurant and The Stores Bar. Both these are family friendly and kayaks and pedal boats can be hired from The Stores.
Fishing from the pier is also a popular activity.

Less than 2 km from the cottages are the superb Ballydaheen Gardens. These Japanese and English style gardens slope all the way down to the shores of Lough Swilly. The gardens meet the shore at the famous 7 Arches - these are a series of seven interconnecting sea caves have been excavated by the action of waves on ancient limestone rock.

Surrounding Area

The village of Portsalon itself  is situated on the Fanad Peninsula. This beautiful peninsula stretches north from the village of Milford to Fanad Head and back down to the Georgian village of Ramelton. It has some of the most remarkable cliff scenery in Ireland, including outstanding examples of marine erosion. Knockalla coast road offers a spectacular drive overlooking Lough Swilly and Inishowen. The Fanad Peninsula Scenic Tour is a 72 km signposted circuit of the peninsula through bre athtaking scenery.

The holiday homes have a large open plan ground floor featuring a fully fitted kitchen, dining area and conservatory. The elegant dining table can comfortable accommodate 8 people. The dining area opens into the spacious and beautifully furnished conservatory. An equally spacious kitchen completes the open plan area. The fully fitted kitchen has all the modern appliances you would expect to find in a luxury self catering holiday home.

  Living Room

The living room of the holiday cottages is located on the first floor and enjoys wonderful views. It is tastefully furnished and decorated and features a luxury leather suite. A large open fireplace gives the room a cosy feeling. For home entertainment there is a TV and DVD Player.

  Conservatory

The holiday homes have a spacious and tastefully furnished  conservatory. The double doors lead out to large back garden area. The conservatory will enable you to enjoy the peaceful and tranquil surrounding of the holiday cottages no matter what the weather.

Booking deposit (non-refundable) of euro100 per week - with balance to be paid six weeks prior to the letting period.
