The cottage is situated
on the Fanad Peninsula very close to Fanad Head. This beautiful
peninsula stretches north from the village of Milford to Fanad Head and
back down to the Georgian village of Ramelton. It has some of the most
remarkable cliff scenery in Ireland, including outstanding examples of
marine erosion. Knockalla coast road offers a spectacular drive
overlooking Lough Swilly and Inishowen. The Fanad Peninsula Scenic Tour
is a 72 km signposted circuit of the peninsula through breathtaking
scenery
The cottage is located 6 miles along
the coast from the beautiful village of Portsalon which has
a superb blue flag beach and a magnificent 18 hole golf links.
Less than 4 miles from the cottage are the superb
Ballydaheen
Gardens. These are English and
Japanese style gardens that slope down to the shores of Lough Swilly. At
the shoreline the gardens provide access to the famous
Seven Arches - a series of
ancient sea caves.

spectacular Fanad Head where Lough Swilly meets the wild Atlantic Ocean.

The cottage
is well placed too for some spectacular beaches noted for the
glorious golden sands. Hill walkers will discover in the area a vast
network of bog roads and mountain tracks to explore.
