Ardara is a traditional centre for weaving and knitwear production. Its historical importance has been recognised in the granting of Heritage status to the town. The visitor will find a number of excellent restaurants in the locality as well as friendly pubs – several of which feature traditional music sessions. Ardara hosts numerous festivals and other organised events throughout the year catering for almost every taste. These include a Bluegrass Festival, the Ardara Agriculture Show, the Cup O’Tae Festival, the Donegal Harvest Rally, an International Walking Festival - and weekends for traditional dancing and match-making. Ardara is a great touring base for you to discover the beautiful South West Donegal region. Within easy driving distance you will find the exceptional ancient tomb of Kilclooney Dolmen and the enchanting Maghera Caves. To the north of Ardara is the charming village of Portnoo. Take some time to yourself as you enjoy a round of golf in the superb Narin and Portnoo Golf Links. The farmhouse is just 5km away the wonderful Narin Blue Flag beach.
