Ash Tree Cottage - Rathmullan

Ash Tree Cottage is a superb modern holiday cottage located in the popular holiday resort of Rathmullan in North West Donegal. It is beautifully furnished and equipped to provide a true home from home holiday experience. The cottage is situated in the Clearwaters development, an attractive, spacious site opposite the grounds of Rathmullan House Hotel. Everything one needs is within walking distance – the fabulous beach, the hotels, restaurants, shops and pubs.

Ash Tree Cottage can comfortably accommodate up to 8 people in 4 bedrooms with the luxury of 3 bathrooms/shower rooms. Top quality furniture and fittings have been used throughout. This is reflected in the pictures, books, Cds, DVDs and games which are included for your enjoyment.
There is also an attractive large rear garden, backed with trees, private and enclosed, making it a safe playground for children. There are two separate patios allowing one to enjoy the sun all day - and an ideal location for breakfasts and barbeques! 

Local Amenities

The village of Rathmullan itself is located on the shores of Lough Swilly and is surrounded by dramatic coastal and mountain scenery. It is now one of the most popular destinations in Donegal for family holidays. In addition to the wonderful sandy beach the village has a selection of lively pubs and variety of eating places. Horse riding can be enjoyed at the Golden Sands Equestrian Centre.

There are also two modern charter boats based at the local marina - these are used for both sea angling and sightseeing on Lough Swilly. A watersports hire and tuition centre has recently opened in the village and there is an excellent children’s' playground located at the harbour area.

Surrounding Area

Donegal as a whole is renowned for its unspoilt beauty, superb blue flag beaches, rugged landscapes and its heritage. Days out can be enjoyed at Gleanveagh National Park with its exhibition centre and beautiful gardens. Garden lovers will also enjoy Oakfield Park at Raphoe and the private Japanese garden at Port Salon.

There are a number of excellent golf courses within easy reach of the cottage. Within half an hours drive you have the great links courses at Portsalon and Rosapenna and also the much improved course in Letterkenny. Using the car ferry at Rathmullan you can reach the renowned courses at Ballyliffin within 50 minutes

Letterkenny, County Donegal's main town, is only 30 minutes by car. This modern town has a 5 screen cinema, bowling, go-karting, a superb modern leisure centre, a beautiful urban park, An Grianan Theatre, the Regional Cultural Centre and a wide variety of shopping.

The holiday home has 4 spacious bedrooms - all finished to a high standard using solid oak furniture. The photograph above shows the master bedroom which is located on the first floor. This wonderfully spacious carpeted room has superb ensuite facilities including electric power shower

  Kitchen

The kitchen is located to the rear of the house and looks out over the lovely enclosed back garden. The area features a fully integrated kitchen and a small breakfast area. There is a ceramic hob and double oven and grill. A larger conservatory style dining area is located to the front of the house and features an elegant table and 8 chairs.

  Living area

The bright and spacious living room is beautifully furnished and decorated. It features a luxury furniture suite, open fireplace, oak wood floor, 37 inch flat screen lcd tv, dvd and stereo. A sliding patio door leads out to the garden of the holiday home.

  Conservatory

Large conservatory-style dining hall with full height windows incorporating electric blinds. The open area above overlooks the hall & is furnished with two wicker chairs - a bright quiet relaxing area away from the TV !

Booking deposit (non-refundable) of euro100 per week - with balance to be paid six weeks prior to the letting period.
