For the golf enthusiast Brook Cottage offers an excellent base to play some of the great links courses of North Donegal. A 5 minute drive brings you to two superb championship golf links at Rosapenna - the Old Tom Morris Course and fabulous new Sandy Hills Course. Also close to the holiday home is the existing St Patrick's Course in Carrigart which is currently being redesigned by Jack Nicklaus. Within half an hours drive there are two more excellent courses – Dunfanaghy and Portsalon. Within a thirty minute drive of the cottage there are numerous things to do and places to visit. You have the awe-inspiring Glenveagh National Park and the delightful Ards Forest Park. The lakeside centre in Dunlewy has something for all the family. In Dunfanaghy there is a workhouse famine museum. Churchill has the famous Glebe House & Gallery as well as the Colmcille Heritage Centre. Letterkenny has all the amenities you would expect to find in a large town - cinemas, museum, theatre, leisure centres, art galleries and excellent shopping. For day trips Tory island and the ancient walled city of Derry are highly recommended. |
