Brook House is a modern holiday home situated in a small development in the picturesque town of Glenties in County Donegal. Located less than ½ km from the main street of the town the holiday home is an excellent base for touring the beautiful southwest corner of County Donegal.

The town of Glenties itself has won Irelands Tidiest Town award on no less than 5 occasions. This, together with abundance of amenities for both active and passive pursuits, makes the town a popular destination for tourists to the North West of Ireland.

Glenties lies at the north west edge of the Blue Stack Mountains and a few miles from the sea. It is sheltered by mountains on three of its four sides. Only on its western side does the valley widen out as it approaches the Atlantic Ocean. The glens and mountains around the town contain numerous scenic walks and drives which the visitor can enjoy by car, bicycle or foot.

Just over 5 miles from the holiday home is the fabulous Blue Flag Beach at Narin. Narin and Portnoo Golf Course if located along the length of this beautiful beach and provides the golfer with a true links course challenge. Rosbeg and Dooey are two other excellent beaches in the locality

This part of Donegal has always been noted for its strong tradition of traditional Irish music and Glenties has a flourishing traditional music school. To experience this tradition at its best, visit the town on the first weekend of October when the "Fiddlers Weekend" attracts fiddlers from many parts of Ireland and around the world.

The Patrick MacGill Summer School is held in Glenties in the second week of August each year when the town pays tribute to it's renowned Navvy Poet. The lively Harvest Fair Festival is held on the second week of September and is a great time to visit the town as it celebrates this traditional "fair" in true Donegal style.

Glenties has been described as a fisherman's paradise. The Owenea River runs through the town and is famous for its salmon and trout fishing. The surrounding hills are dotted with numerous lakes filled with trout, the best know being Loch Anna

Within half an hours drive of the holiday home the following attractions can be found:-

  • Glenveagh National Park and Castle.
16,000 hectares of mountain, bogs, lakes and woods with its spectacular Glenveagh castle, gardens and visitor centre.

  • Donegal Castle.
The beautifully restored 15th Century home of the O'Donnell Clan, located in Donegal Town.

  • Dunlewey Lakeside Centre.
An award winning amenity centre with an adventure and in-door play centre, pony trekking, boat trips, etc.

  • Glencolmcille Folk Museum.
A glimpse of Irish peasant life in times gone by.

Brook House offers luxurious accommodation in an ideal touring location in South West Donegal. The holiday home is a great base for walking, angling, scenic drives and golf.
