The popular and famous establishment known as "McGrory's", is a five minute walk, and here you will find a small hotel, a fine restaurant and two pubs; - The Front Bar, noted for its fine selection of food , drink and traditional Irish Music, and the Backroom Bar, which is really more of a function room, famous throughout Ireland and beyond for its range and quality of music and entertainment.
The (Blue Flag status)
beach is about 2km away, just north of the
village, and is a wonderful stretch of "sand and foam". On the east end of the beach, you will find the car park, and a well equipped children's play area that will keep the young ones happily occupied for many hours. On the beaches west side, you will find a picturesque little fishing harbour protected by a breakwater known as Bunagee Pier. The pier is a popular spot for anglers to cast a line. Golfers will find that they are not far from a course, when they want to play; with the popular two links courses at Ballyliffin and others at Buncrana, Redcastle, Greencastle, and Culmore in Derry, all within a half hour drive.
Near the Ballyliffin golf course, on the Isle of Doagh, a visit to the
'Famine Village' cannot be ignored, when in the area.
Each year, as the festive period approaches, Doagh Famine Village is
transformed into Donegal's very own Lapland,
