Located in Gartan, birthplace of Colmcille, on the borders of Glenveagh National Park and overlooking both lake and mountains this house will provide the ideal location to enjoy the holiday of your choice . You can enjoy both a relaxing “away from it all” holiday or use the house as a base to engage in any number of outdoor activities. It’s ideally located to explore central and north Donegal, including Gweedore, Dunfanaghy and the north Donegal coastline.

Visit the mountains of Errigal, Muckish and Slieve Snaght, the lakes of Glenveagh, Glen, Dunlewey, Lough Finn and Lough Salt. The location is ideal for exploring Donegal history. You will only be 2km from the scene of the infamous Derryveagh evictions, 20 kms from the famine village ruins near Doochary and 15 mins drive from the library in Letterkenny that contains a range of historical and genealogical documents.

The house has every modern convenience, beautiful decor and elegant furnishings that will provide you with all the luxuries of home and, if you wish, a great setting to entertain family, friends or your fellow guests. The location is ideal for children as it’s away from busy roads and other dangers. While hill walking and beaches are within 30 min drive, the Gartan Lough Outdoors Centre, is less than 1km from the house and has a program of outdoor activities that can be booked on-line at any time.

The three pubs in Churchill, about 1.5kms from the house, provide music and entertainment, traditional and modern, on both midweek and week-end nights. Most villages and towns hold annual festivals during the summer months.
