
Cuan na Mara is a 4 star holiday home with V.A.S. category 4 status making it a suitable location for both disabled and able bodied people to come and enjoy a relaxing, peaceful holiday admist the wild rugged coastline of Inishowen, a world away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
We have recently been awarded the Quality Mark for Accessibility by Excellence Ireland Quality Association and Rehab.
The downstairs section of the house can be used independently so that small groups of 2 or more are also welcome. Cuan na Mara is a short walk from the local mini market which opens 12 hours a day, the local pub the Fisherman's Inn is located 2km. Culdaff beach, a beautiful blue flag beach is 4km away. With Malin Head, the top of Ireland, wild and rugged landscape a short drive away.
Inishowen is a golfers paradise which hosts five golf courses within a 20km radius. A must for the tourist to this area is the Famine Village, an insight into Ireland long ago, well worth a visit.
The "Inishowen 100" is a drive which takes the visitor on a roughly circular tour of the Inishowen Peninsula, and gets its name from the distance of 100kms, the approximate distance covered if the whole trip is completed.
Some of the activities include; Hill Walking, Scuba-diving, Surfing, Golf, Fishing, Bird watching. For the golf enthusiast, the well known Ballyliffin Golf Club and course is a 15 min drive from here. Other golf courses are located at Greencastle, Redcastle and Buncrana.
Near Ballyliffin (and the golf course) on the beautiful Isle of Doagh, a visit to the Isle Of Doagh Visitor Centre is to be recommended. This unique outdoor museum tells the story of life in this area going back to the Great Famine in the 1840's. A Famine Village and typical dwellings such as Sod or Turf houses from those times can be seen here. The centre transforms to Santa's Island in December drawing children from all over Ireland to experience a truly memorable encounter with Father Christmas
The spacious kitchen of Cuan na Mara features a log burning stove set in a surround of natural stone. There is a separate utility room housing the laundry facilities.
The living room is located to the front of the house and has views over the extensive front lawn. A sun room provides extra relaxing space.

In addition to the 5 ensuite bedrooms, the main bathroom is located on the ground floor. This bathroom has been especially designed for the disabled with wheel in shower, seat and grab rails - grab rails also at toilet.

This site is a dream to use; it has everything in place in a way that is easy to find. All the information I want is easily accessible and having numerous photos really gives you a good idea of the property. Looked at other sites and after a couple of minutes gave up.
