
Cuil na Mara is a modern 3 bedroom holiday home situated in Parkmore, Marble Hill near the holiday resort of Dunfanaghy in North West Donegal. Views from the front of the holiday home sweep spectacularly over Sheephaven Bay towards the Rosguill Peninsula.
From the holiday home it is a 6 minute downhill walk to the the shores of Sheephaven Bay at Marble Hill. Marble Hill lies on the eastern side of Breaghy Head with Portnablagh lying on the western side. The Breaghy headland and its beautiful sheltered Marble Hill beach has been a favourite family holiday destination for generations. The beach is one of two blue flag beaches in the Dunfanaghy area – Killahoey beach being the other. Marble Hill is suitable for swimming, sailing, motor boating, water skiing, canoeing and windsurfing.
Close to the holiday home is the wonderful 4 star Shandon Hotel. This hotel features a modern spa and wellness centre which is open to the public. The hotel bar, lounge and leisure centre all enjoy the beautiful vista of Marble Hill Strand.
The holiday home is about 2km from Portnablagh with its lovely harbour, pier and beach. A further 2km along the coast is Dunfanaghy. Dunfanaghy is a popular seaside village with fine restaurants, friendly traditional pubs, craft shops and art galleries. It has an abundance of amenities for the visitor. Killahoey Beach is a mecca for water sports enthusiasts – swimmers, wind surfers and kite surfers. The golf course stretches along the length of the beach and provides a very good golf links challenge. Horse Riding is also available along the beach or among the quiet roads surrounding the town.
Dunfanaghy now has a well established Festival programme which runs throughout the year and includes a Seafood Festival, a Jazz and Blues Festival and a Halloween Madness Festival. A new addition to the festival programme is the Dunfanaghy Festival of Traditional Irish Music which takes place in early July.
Cuil na Mara is centrally located along the North Donegal coastline. Mountain climbing and hill walking are popular in this spectacular landscape with Muckish, Errigal and the Derryveagh mountains all easily reachable. There are a number of beautiful coastal and forest walks in the region including numerous walking trails in nearby Ards Forest Park and through the sand dunes from Horn Head to Tramore Beach with its views of Tory Island. Cuil na Mara is only 30 minutes away from the historic Glenveagh Castle. Also in the region are a number of fishing lakes located in Portnablagh, Dunfanaghy and Creeslough.
The comfortably furnished living room enjoys sea views and features a wood burning stove. It has a large screen lcd tv and dvd player along with a selection of books and dvds. The living toom leads into the adjacent sunroom.
The bright and spacious sunroom enjoys lovely views and sun all day. It features a dining table and chairs as well as comfortable sofa furniture.
The holiday home has a spacious modern fitted kitchen. The kitchen window has meadow views. Appliances available include electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. A separate utility room houses a washing machine and tumble dryer.
