Donrone House is a luxury modern holiday home with a beautiful location on a hillside in the popular beach and surf resort of Rossnowlagh in South Donegal

From its elevated site the holiday home enjoys  lovely views over Donegal Bay towards the cliffs at Slieve League and the Atlantic Ocean beyond. From the front door it is just over 500 metres to Rossnowlagh Beach - a fabulous 2km long  Blue Flag beach.

The amenities in  Rossnowlagh -  Surf Schools,  Brittons Gallery, The Sandhouse Hotel, the Smugglers Creek  and Gaslight bar/ restaurants are within easy walking distance. The holiday home also lies along Irelands Wild Atlantic Way driving route which hugs the coastline of South Donegal.

A Luxury Holiday Home

The holiday home itself is modern, extremely stylish and comfortable. It invites a wealth of natural light with its large windows to maximise the view and setting.  There are 4 double bedrooms - 3 of which are ensuite. A large bathroom features a bath and separate shower. There are 3 separate living spaces , all enjoying sea views.

Main Living Area

The main living room is very spacious and has a solid fuel stove. A smaller room is ideal for children complete with novelty armchair,  tv and x-box player. A large open plan area features another living space as well as kitchen and dining areas. The living area has a gas effect stove. The stylish modern kitchen is fully equipped for a self catering holiday.

Beautiful mature landscaped gardens surround the holiday home with large lawns to the front and back. There is a large paved patio area with views towards the sea. An added feature is a large garage attached to the house which is ideal for storing surf boards, golf clubs, bicycles etc.

Rossnowlagh

Rossnowlaghs beach is not only a top surfing venue but also popular for walking, swimming, kayaking, pony trekking and kite flying. Surfing lessons are available from several surf clubs / schools located in the area. This vibrant seaside resort has a number of fine restaurants including the Smugglers Creek, the Gaslight and the Sand House Hotel.

Ballyshannon 

Rossnowlagh is located between 2 of Donegals most historic towns -  Ballyshannon and Donegal Town. The historic town of Ballyshannon is just 9km from the holiday home. Reputed to be the oldest town in Ireland, Ballyshannon is located at a point where the mighty Erne system meets the sea.

Today it is vibrant town with a good selection of cafes, restaurants, pubs and shops.. It has a leisure centre and holds a number of renowned music festivals each year including the Rory Gallagher International Tribute festival and the Ballyshannon Folk & Traditional Music Festival

Donegal Town

Donegal Town is 18km north of the holiday home. It is a designated Heritage Town and has numerous tourist attractions. Donegal Castle stands beside The Diamond, overlooking the River Eske. Located on the Diamond is the renowned Magee of Donegal. On the outskirts of the town is the quaint Donegal Craft Village.

Guided historical tours of Donegal Town

Guided historical tours of Donegal Town take place on a daily basis during the summer and the Waterbus takes you around Donegal Bay. The ruins of Donegal Abbey, situated on the bay, are open to the public. Donegal Town also has several first class hotels and restaurants. There is entertainment each night in the local pubs with music to suit all tastes.

Just 11km from the holiday home is the Donegal Golf Club at Murvagh - a top class 18 hole championship links course.  A 5 minute drive will bring you to Creevy Pier -  a popular venue for watersports and sea angling.  Nearby is the Castle Adventure Open Farm and the ruins of Wardtown Castle

Touring Base

There are a number of top tourist attractions within an hours drive of Donrone House including the Cliffs of Slieve League, Glenveagh National Park, the Ulster American Folk Park near Omagh, the Fermanagh Lakelands and ‘Yeats Country’ in Sligo

A smaller second living room has a sofa, a novelty armchair, tv and x-box player - an ideal area for kids. The room also enjoys sea views.
