Elf Holiday Home is an attractive, new, three bedroom semi-detached self catering holiday home, situated in the Oakfield Close development in Buncrana. It can comfortably sleep up to six.

House Interior

On entering, one faces an entrance hall, with a door just to the right leading to the lounge, which has an open fireplace. A little ahead, to the left, the staircase, to the right a passage to the rear kitchen, dining area, and utility room. A little way down the passage, another doorway reveals a ground floor toilet and basin. Upstairs, one arrives at a small landing from which the three bedrooms and the main bathroom are connected. The front facing master bedroom has an en-suite.

Kitchen

The kitchen is fully fitted and equipped to make food preparation easy and convenient. Bed linen, towels, electricity and oil fired central heating are all included. The home is also insulated and double glazed for added winter warmth.

Outside, the front of the home is separated from the road by a small patch of lawn. A drive way on the side will accommodate up to three cars, and the back yard is fully enclosed by a wooden fence, making it a safe, secure area for young children. A set of patio doors from the dining area allows access to the back yard, and there is a set of garden furniture for relaxing outside, weather permitting.

The holiday home is located at the far end of the complex away from the main road, so it is quiet and peaceful, with a rear view overlooking a playing field, and the banks of the Mill River.

Surrounding Area

It is ideally positioned as a touring base from which to explore the locale and further afield, and is very conveniently within close walking distance of the local garage-shop, The Drift Inn pub and restaurant, The Inishowen Gateway Hotel, a tourist information office, The Buncrana Leisure Centre, with its heated swimming pool, gym and sauna facilities, and the nearest beach and a well equipped childrens play area at the Buncrana shorefront.

Not much further away, but still within walking distance, is the Buncrana town centre, and a host of pubs, restaurants, a cinema, a video hire, post office, places of worship, and various shops, pharmacies, supermarkets and other retail outlets.

Walkers

Walkers will have much to choose from, and there is a popular, paved coastal walk which starts at the castle bridge, and follows the coast along the eastern shores of Lough Swilly to Neds Point, Porthaw, Fr. Hegartys Rock and Stragill. Alternatively there is a shorter river walk along the banks of the Crana River through the lovely wooded Swan Park.

Local Beaches

The nearest blue flag status beach is at Lisfannon near Fahan, to the south, with the White Strand, The Buncrana Shorefront, Porthaw, Stragill and Linsfort, being other beaches within a short driving distance.

Golfers will be pleased to learn that the Buncrana Municipal Golf Course is a 9 hole course just across the road, while the North West Golf Club at Lisfannon is not much further. There is the famous two links course at Ballyliffin, only a twenty minute drive away. Other nearby courses can be found at Greencastle, Redcastle and Culmore in Derry.

Living Space

Located to the rear of the holiday home, the kitchen and dining area share a single space.
Fully fitted, the kitchen has modern storage units on a ceramic tiled floor, and modern appliances which include, a large fridge-freezer, electric hob, oven and extractor, stainless steel sink, microwave, kettle, toaster and essential crockery, cutlery and cookware. A separate adjacent utility room has matching storage units, and the washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board. There is an outside clothes line. The dining table has four chairs with space to seat six.

The lounge is positioned to the front and is south facing. On a wood laminate floor, it has a traditional open fireplace with a cast iron hearth framed by a carved wood surround, on a polished black granite plinth. Comfortable seating is provided by a matching pair of couches, one a two seat and the other,  a three seat. The TV has a DVD player, and free-view satellite reception. There is also a CD-Radio-Stereo.

There are three upstairs bedrooms to sleep six.
Two bedrooms have double beds, and one bedroom has two single beds.
The master bedroom also has an en-suite.

The main upstairs bathroom has a bath, basin, toilet and a separate shower.
The upstairs en-suite has a basin, toilet and a separate shower.
There is a downstairs basin and toilet off the hallway.
