Fern House is an  8 en-suite bedroom townhouse (can be let as 4,5 or 6 bedroom) located  in the quaint village of Kilmacrennan right in the centre of Donegal - 10 minutes drive from Letterkenny.  This is the ideal base for your family holiday in Donegal, on the doorstep of Glenveagh National Park with a whole range of top attractions, including the Giant's Causeway, within easy reach by car.

19th Century Townhouse

A 19th century townhouse, the property is situated in the village of Kilmacrennan on the N56 just 10 minutes drive from Letterkenny. This 200 year old property is very spacious, comfortable and well maintained.  Guests can enjoy the village amenities while relaxing in the country.  All buses stop at the front door which makes this house very convenient. We have a map in the hallway with designated trips to make your stay stress free.

An Ideal Touring Base

Fern House is an ideal touring base for the many attractions of north and west Donegal. Dunlewey Centre (15 min drive) is ideal for children with boat trips, horse riding and family entertainment.  Muckish and Errigal Mountain is for the more energetic visitor and is a popular and well known day trip.  The new Mulroy Bridge near Carrigart makes the beautiful peninsulas in Donegal - Fanad, Rosguill and Horn Head so much more accessible. An enjoyable day trip to one of Ireland’s most remote outposts, Tory Island, is a must.

The living room is located to the front of the house, it features an attractive solid fuel stove. It is carpeted and is elegantly furnished with leather furniture and has a great homely atmosphere.

The kitchen complements the living room which is next door. It has plenty of storage and has an extendable table that seats 6

This versatile room is located at the front of the house has an open fire, dining facilities and wooden floor.  It is ideal for dining for large or small groups, for games or a lazy evening before the fire.

Fern House has 8 bedrooms to sleep up to 18 people.

Bedroom 1: Double bedroom furnished with fully tilled en-suite/shower, TV, solid wooden floor, located on ground floor, modified to accommodate persons with restricted mobility or who is wheelchair bound.
Bedroom 2: Double bedroom en-suite/shower, walk in wardrobe, furnished wooden floor and located on ground floor.
Bedroom 3: 2 single beds, en-suite/shower, furnished carpeted and located on the first floor.
Bedroom 4: Double bedroom, en-suite/shower, furnished carpeted and located on the first floor.
Bedroom 5: Double bedroom, en-suite/shower, furnished carpeted and located on the first floor.
Bedroom 6: Double bedroom, en-suite/shower, furnished carpeted and located on the first floor.

The courtyard has its own charm with its old style sheds, This space can accommodate 6 cars. There is an outside washing line.

Booking Details

Booking deposit (non-refundable) of euro100 per week - with balance to be paid three weeks prior to the letting period.
