Fox Lodge is a modern 3 bedroom holiday home located in the beautiful Ards region near Creeslough in North Donegal. From its elevated site the holiday home enjoys views over a sheltered inlet of Sheephaven Bay towards the gentle rolling hills beyond.  The imposing figure of Muckish Mountain is ever present in the landscape of this part of Donegal.

The holiday home has comfortable accommodation for up to 7 people. There is a cosy living room with an open fireplace and a large kitchen with dining area. There is a bathroom and a separate shower room. The holiday home is sheltered by mature woodland to the rear and has a large lawn to the front.

A Haven for Walkers and Nature Lovers

Fox Lodge is located close to the entrance of the beautiful Ards Friary and also a short distance to the magnificent Ards Forest Park. Ards Friary is open to the public and has a quaint coffee shop which is open during the holiday season. This very peaceful place is set in 200 acres of mature woodland near the north-eastern tip of Ards Peninsula . There is a wonderful footpath which follows the shore among oak, beech and elm trees, passing several small sandy beaches and coves before reaching the point of the peninsula. Here there are stunning views over Sheephaven Bay towards the Rosguill Peninsula and out into the Atlantic Ocean

Ards Forest Park

The majestic Ards Forest Park is next to Ards Friary and walks from the Friary extend into it, allowing the visitor to venture even further.  Ards Forest Park is Ireland’s most diverse forest park. It is a 480-hectare paradise of forests, small lakes, streams and salt marshes. There are a large number of trails in this park giving the walker the opportunity to explore a variety of habitats from foreshore and sand dunes to semi natural oak woodlands on rock outcrops. By “stitching together” a number of trails, it is possible to hike for up to 5 hours on forest tracks and trails, taking in the full circuit of the park. The opportunities are endless. The park has the added advantage of a fine sandy beach and a childrens playground.

For the keen fisherman, Fox Lodge holiday home is a good base. Just outside Creeslough village is the Lough na Tooey Rainbow Fishery. This is a fly and boat fishing only venue. In addition the famous Lackagh Fishery is located in this part of Donegal. This fishery comprises the Lackagh River, Owencarrow River, Glen Lough and Lough Beagh  in Glenveagh National Park. The lakes of the Dunfanaghy Fishery – Sessiagh, Purt and New Lake are just over 10 km away. Fishing permits are required and are available locally.

Ideal Touring Base

Fox Lodge is also centrally located among the main holiday resorts on the North Donegal coastline – Portnablagh, Marble Hill, Dunfanaghy, Downings and Carrigart.  Windsurfing, water-skiing, scuba diving, canoeing and sailing are all available in this region. There are fine golf courses at nearby Dunfanaghy and at Rosapenna near Downings. There are also a number of magnificent beaches located within a short driving distance of the holiday home including Ards, Marble Hill, Tramore and Killahoey.
The magnificent Glenveagh National Park, the wonderful Dunlewey Lakeside Centre and Letterkenny – Donegals main town – are all less than a 30 minute drive from Fox Lodge.
