The cottage is located one mile outside the historic town of Moville on a farm, which is a haven for wildlife; where deer, pheasant, badger, hare and buzzard are often sighted. A hill walk nearby affords panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, from Derry to Rathlin Island and Trawbreaga Bay.

Some of the local amenities include Golf courses, Pitch & Putt, an amusement park at Leisureland, a Maritime Museum and Planetarium at Greencastle. A scenic walkway along the banks of the Foyle allows one to walk from Moville to Greencastle. Several excellent restaurants and pubs with traditional music can also be enjoyed.

A car ferry links Greencastle to Magilligan Point, and a scenic drive around the North Derry and Antrim coast, to famous attractions including the Carrickarede Rope Bridge, The Giants Causeway, Portrush, Dunluce Castle, the Bushmills Distillery and much more.
