Fushia Cottage is a superb modern holiday home situated just outside the charming village of Downings in North West Donegal.  The cottage is set in a tranquil rural location and enjoys wonderful views of the surrounding countryside

The Holiday Home

This delightful and spacious holiday home has been designed to ensure a relaxing and comfortable holiday experience. It can accommodate up to 8 people in both style and comfort. Three of the four spacious bedrooms are ensuite - the fourth is adjacent to a bathroom on the ground floor.

The large open plan ground floor of the cottage  is tastefully decorated and furnished. The relaxing conservatory area enjoys lovely views of Sheephaven Bay and Muckish Mountain. The well designed kitchen area will ensure that your self catering experience in Fushia Cottage will be as stress free as possible.

Local Activities

The holiday home is 2 km from Downings village and is conveniently placed for golf, fishing ( sea angling and fresh water), hill walks, horse riding and water sports. There are a number of magnificant beaches in the immediate vicinity - including the fabulous Tramore Strand. The nearby Rosapenna Golf Links boasts two renowned 18 hole championship courses. A further 3 km brings you to the picturesque village of Carrigart where you will find an equestrian centre and the Mevagh Dive Centre - Donegal's first purpose built dive centre.

Downings

The village of  Downings itself  is a very popular tourist resort and fishing port with good restaurants and  lively pubs - including the renowned Harbour Bar. It is situated on the beautiful Rosquil Peninsula. This peninsula divides Mulroy Bay and Sheephaven Bay and contains spectacular scenery

North West Donegal

Within a thirty minute drive of the cottage there are numerous visitor attractions. These include the majestic Glenveagh National Park and the beautiful Ards Forest Park near Cresslough. The lakeside centre in Dunlewy has something for all the family. In Dunfanaghy there is a workhouse famine museum. Churchill has the famous Glebe House & Gallery as well as the Colmcille Heritage Centre. Letterkenny has all the amenities you would expect to find in a large town - cinemas, museum, theatre, leisure centres, art galleries and excellent shopping. 

So whether you want to enjoy the great outdoors or simply want to unwind and relax Fushia Cottage provides the ideal holiday base.

The large open plan living area of Fushia Cottage features an open fireplace, solid pine wooden floors and comfortable furniture.  For your entertainment there is a TV, DVD Player and stereo system.

Booking deposit (non-refundable) of euro100 per week - with balance to be paid six weeks prior to the letting period.
