Glasheen Cottage is a family home that has been newly renovated for tourism purposes. Given a high quality finish the wooden floors, solid wood furniture and natural materials and colours used create a calming atmosphere which mirror the relaxed country atmosphere outside. The house provides the ideal location for families or groups to come to relax and get away from it all with the village and its many activities and attractions close to hand. A local taxi service is an inexpensive and reliable way to enjoy the high life and not have to worry about how you’ll get home.

Glasheen Cottage is located adjacent to traditional Irish stone barns and freshwater lakes. It is a perfect area to base you holiday with walking, water sports, nature trails, heritage and history on your doorstep.

In Rathmullan you can spend your days horse riding (Golden Sands Equestrian Centre), deep sea angling, eating in award winning restaurants (Rathmullan House & Bonnan Bui), and meeting the locals at the live music sessions in the pubs. The area is steeped in history and heritage. There are local festivals in Rathmullan throughout the year e.g. Summer Festival & Regatta (August bank holiday) and Deep Sea Angling Festival (June). The cottage is on the route of the breath-taking Fanad Drive, 8km from Blue flag accredited Portsalon beach (voted the second most beautiful beach in the world!) where watersports and golf is available!  Within a 40 min radius you can: discover the big blue by scuba diving at Meveagh PADI Diving Centre; visit the bustling town of Letterkenny which hosts a 5 screen cinema, karting, shopping, ten pin bowling, An Grianan Theatre and much more and visit Glenveagh National Park home to the endangered golden eagle species.

•Climb Muckish and Errigal. Mount Errigal, the highest mountain in Donegal is a demanding climb and once on the summit you can see for miles around.
•Visit Glenveagh National Park, with 16,000 hectares of mountains, lakes, wood and bogs. Glenveagh contains the largest red deer population in Europe.  Within the National Park Glenveagh Castle and gardens are well worth a visit on their own
•Find numerous peaceful roads, country lanes and mountain tracks to walk
