Teach Broga - Glenties

This is a traditional stone Irish cottage which has been partly modernised, with a new kitchen, bedroom and central heating. It is situated in a wooded glen with a stream flowing though the garden. It has countryside views from every window and is in a peaceful location with ample parking space. Local pubs nearby specialise in traditional music and the Glen Tavern is within walking distance. Nearby villages provide good cafes, restaurants, shops, crafts and museums.

Gaelteacht

The cottage is in the Donegal Gaelteacht where traditional Irish language and culture can be experienced in the local community, pubs shops etc.

Surrounding Area

The area around Glenties and Ardara has been described as a fisherman's paradise. The Owenea River runs through Glenties town and is famous for its salmon and trout fishing. The hills that surround the holiday home are dotted with numerous lakes that are filled with trout.

The holiday home is also a central base to attend the various annual festivals and other organised events that take place in this part of Donegal. In Glenties there festivals almost every month and there is the Patrick McGill Summer School, the Harvest Fair Festival and the Fiddlers Weekend.

Living Space

  Living Room

There are two living rooms (one is a study).  The main room has a wood burning stove and views down the glen for miles; it has a small TV with combined DVD player. The study has similar glen views, numerous books, an open fire and spare bed.

  Dining Room

The dining room has a table with and chairs in the centre.  Also there is a wood burning stove.  The county dresser, along with the numerous other decorative pieces are in keeping with the traditional style of the cottage.

  Garden

There is a large garden with a small stream running through.  The garden has childrens swings.  Also there is a patio area with furniture and a gas bar-be-que for some al fresco dining.

Booking deposit (non-refundable) of euro100 per week - with balance to be paid six weeks prior to the letting period
