No 1 and No 2 Glencross are two charming holiday cottages located on an elevated site overlooking a beautiful green valley that slopes gently down towards the shores of Lough Swilly. The rural setting of the cottages will ensure a peaceful and relaxing holiday  -  and their south facing aspect can provide all day sunshine.

 A mere 10 minute walk from the cottages brings you to the Kinnegar Strand - a wonderful golden sandy beach. This beach leads to Rathmullan's tree lined beach. Along this beach are two of Donegal's top hotels - Rathmullan House Hotel and Fort Royal Hotel. Both these hotels have excellent restaurants.

Rathmullan village itself is only 1.5 km from the cottages. The village has a number of lively pubs and good restaurants. The renowned Waters Edge Restaurant is being renovated at the moment and should be open for business by Easter 2006.

At the pier there is a small marina and also a car ferry that links Rathmullan with Buncrana during the summer season. The small marina is the base for two modern sea charter boats that are used for deep sea angling and sightseeing tours of Lough Swilly. Fishing of Rathmullan Pier is a popular activity. The wonderful beach is safe for bathing and is excellent for water sports.

The central location of the Glencross Cottages in  North Donegal makes them an ideal tour base for this beautiful part of Ireland. The nearby car ferry in Rathmullan brings the spectacular Inishowen Peninsula within easy reach.

Within an hours drive of the cottage you will find the magnificent Glenveagh National Park, the ancient Ards Forest Park and the historic city of Derry. There are also  beautiful and varied coastal landscapes to explore  in such areas as Horn Head, Bloody Foreland and the Fanad and Rosquil Peninsulas. The quaint Georgian village of Ramelton is only 9km from the cottages.

There are a number of excellent golf courses within easy reach of the cottages. Within half an hours drive you have the great links courses at Portsalon and Rosapenna and also the much improved course in Letterkenny. Using the car ferry you can reach the renowned courses at Ballyliffin within 50 minutes.

We specialise in organising shooting and stalking holidays for up to ten guns, quarry includes driven pheasant, partridge, duck - also woodcock, snipe, hares and rabbits. Stalking for Red and Sitka deer, stags and hinds. We can arrange w/ends weeks or mid week packages.
