Activities

It enjoys magnificent views of Glen Lough and the Lough Salt mountains. The countryside around the cottage is ideal for both walking and cycling. Salmon and Sea-Trout fishing are available on Glen Lough itself and on the nearby Lackagh River. Sea angling is available at the nearby village of Downings

Within 5 miles of the cottage there are two superb championship golf links at Rosapenna - the Old Tom Morris Course and the recently opened Sandy Hills Course. Within half an hours drive of the cottage there are several more challenging links courses including Portsalon and Dunfanaghy
Horse riding is available nearby at Carrigart & Dunfanaghy.

Beautiful sandy beaches are only 10 minutes drive away at Downings and Tramore strand. Also nearby are Marble Hill and Dunfanaghy beaches.

Other local attractions include

Glenveagh National Park with its 16,000 hectares of mountains, lakes, wood and bogs.. Within the National Park, Glenveagh Castle and gardens are well worth a visit on their own.

Atlantic Drive This spectacular drive begins in Downings village and offers some of the most awe inspiring scenery in County Donegal.

Ards Forest Park As well as being one of the most beautiful, Ards is certainly the most varied of Ireland's forest parks. Bays, rivers, loughs, beaches, salt marshes, valleys, viewing points, deer enclosures and historic monuments are woven together by a series of fascinating nature trails.

Glen village itself which is within strolling distance of the cottage contains a renowned traditional Irish bar and restaurant (which won the Georgina Campbell Pub of the Year 2008)
