
Golfers Paradise is a lovely 3 bedroom holiday home located in rolling countryside on the outskirts of Rossnowlagh beach resort in south West Donegal. The holiday home is less than 1km from the fabulous Rossnowlagh blue flag beach - an internationally renowned surfing venue but also very popular with swimmers, walkers, kite fliers and kayakers. With its golden sand and sand dunes this beautiful beach is an idyllic playground for kids of all ages.
The holiday home has 3 comfortable bedrooms to sleep 7. In addition there is a games room with a small double sofa bed. The main living room has an open fireplace and looks out looks on lawns, countryside and the Bluestack Mountains. There is fully equipped modern kitchen with an adjacent dining area. Double doors lead to a comfortably furnished sun room that enjoys panoramic countryside views. Patio doors lead out to a sheltered patio area.
The holiday home is pet friendly. In the tarmaced back yard there is good sized dog pen. Just above the holiday home there is a small field and a stable that can accommodated a horse and 2 ponies. There is an extra charge for using this facility - please check with the owner for details and conditions. In any event the short trip up to the stables area is worth it alone for the superb panoramic views of Donegal Bay.
The holiday home is an ideal base for the keen golfer to try some of the first rate golf courses in the region. The superb 18 hole Donegal Golf Club is just 8km away at Murvagh. This links course, one of the longest in Europe, has pine forests, the mountains and the Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop. 16 km to the south is Bundoran Golf club. Within a 50km radius there are a number of other superb courses including Rosses Point and Strandhill in Sligo and the Lough Erne Golf Resort near Enniskillen
The Creevy Coastal Path is a 10 km walk that covers much of the coastline between Ballyshannon and Rossnowlagh. In the south the path follows the shoreline of the Erne Estuary - a great habitat for wildlife and birdlife. As it move northwards through the quaint Creevy pier and harbour there are great views across Donegal Bay towards St. John's Point and Slieve League. This coastal path is waymarked with directional markers and stiles are in place to assist crossing walls and fences.
Nearby Ballyshannon is a starting/ ending point for a major cycle network that covers much of the northern part of Ireland. The network consists of over 770 miles of four high quality, signed cycle routes from Belfast to Ballyshannon, Ballycastle to Ballyshannon, and the Kingfisher Trail. Minor country roads criss-crossing the border counties of Fermanagh, Leitrim, Cavan, Donegal and Monaghan make up the Kingfisher Trail. Part of this trail is a coastal loop, following back roads through the hills of Cashelard to Rossnowlagh Strand. The route back to Ballyshannon is along a further network of quiet lanes - perfect for care free cycling.
Five Oaks Ranch is an Aire approved equestrian centre situated just 2km east of Ballyshannon in the heart of the Knather Woods.This family run business, specialises in Western Style horse-riding, using pure bred American Quarter Horses, Appaloosa and Argentinean Criollo. Donegal Equestrian in Bundoran is a more traditional equestrian centre. It has horses and ponies of all shapes and sizes to suit everyone. The centre is BHS and Aire approved and can offer indoor and outdoor arenas, 10km beach and sand dune trails, country trails and a cross country course.
Less that 5km from the holiday home is the quaint Creevy pier and harbour. This is one of the bases for An Duanai Mara Charter Boat. This fully licensed vessel offers deep sea fishing, shark angling, and sightseeing trips in Donegal Bay - one of the most picturesque stretches of coastline in Ireland. The main fish species caught in these waters are pollock, dog fish, bass and mackerel. If angling is not your thing then why not head out for a day trip to Slieve League, the highest sea cliffs in Europe or visit Inishmurray Island and its vast Colonies of sea birds.
Golfers Paradise is the ideal base for exploring Donegal and the 3 other countries on its doorstep - Sligo, Leitrim and Fermanagh. Within an hours dive of the holiday home the visitor will find historic Donegal Town, the Marble Arch Caves, the Ulster American Folk Park, Belleek Pottery, Yeats Country, Sligo Town, Mullaghmore, Lissadell House and the Fermanagh Lakelands.
The spacious living room is to the front of the holiday home and enjoys lovely views over rolling countryside. The room is comfortably furnished and has an open fireplace and a large flat screen tv with dvd player.
The holiday home has a smaller room that can act as a games room or second living space. It features a tv, games console, rocking chair and sofa bed.
The holiday home has a bright and spacious kitchen and dining area. There is a
fitted kitchen with a full range of modern applicances. The adjacent dining area has a solid table and 6 chairs. Double doors lead from the dining area to the sun room.
The sun room enjoys panoramic views ot the rolling countryside outside the holiday home. The room is comfortably furnished and has double doors leading out to the patio area and sheltered back yard. Garden furniture is available and there is a well maintained lawn to the front of the house.
