Carrigart is located on the north coast of Donegal on the Rosguill peninsula between the inlets of Mulroy Bay and Sheephaven Bay. This lovely village is an ideal centre for exploring the magnificent scenery of the adjoining coast and is convenient to Glenveigh National Park. With a population just under 1,000 the village is one of the neatest in County Donegal and always fares well in the annual Tidy Towns competition. Uniquely for such a small town it can boast of it's own public park, hidden away behind the main street, in a superb setting on the shores of Mulroy Bay. Features
of the surrounding area are the many sandy beaches and rocky
inlets making it an ideal area for bathing and something of a mecca for
sea anglers. Nearby golf courses include: The newly renovated North Star Bar on the main street has a great reputation for food and live music. The Carrigart Hotel, located at the end of the main street, is a very popular family hotel and has a superb restaurant and lively bar. |
