Fahan is located in County Donegal, 8 miles from the historic city of Derry, on the east bank of Lough Swilly. Nestled at the base of the Inishowen hills and overlooking the broad expanse of the Lough the village makes the base for a touring holiday of Donegal.

Buncrana, 4 miles to the north along the coast, is the main town in Inishowen and has many fine pubs and restaurants. It also has a public swimming pool and 9 hole golf course. For the more adventurous golfer the 18 hole course at Northwest Golf Club is just 5 minutes drive away.

A new marina has recently opened in Fahan making this an ideal venue for boating enthusiasts. There are safe sandy bathing beaches on the northern end of the village and for those rainy days a days shopping in Derry is a must.
