The cottage is situated in the Gaeltacht area of Upper Glassagh, Derrybeg and is within walking distance of the local post office/shop, church, Bloody Foreland and Teac Jack’s Hotel which is famous for its food, craic, evening entertainment and family ceilidhs.

The cottage is the perfect base for exploring all the delights that Donegal has to offer. It is close to the lively village of Bunbeg which offers a wide selection of restaurants and pubs. The nearby Ostan Gweedore Hotel contains an indoor pool, leisure centre and spa facilities, which are open to non-residents.

Bunbeg Harbour

Visitors to the pictureseque harbour at Bunbeg can take a boat trip to the unmissable and spectacular islands of Tory and Gola. The Dunlewey Lakeside Centre and Glenveagh National Park have something to offer all the family.

The area is famous for its miles of sandy beaches. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy a range of activities including fishing, cycling and hill walking. Golfers are spoilt for choice with the courses at Gweedore, Cruit Island, Cloughaneely and Dunfanaghy all located within 15 miles of Island View cottage.

Evenings can be whiled away at one of the many traditional music sessions taking place in the local pubs. Amongst the area’s famous sons are Altan, Clannad and Enya. All in all Island View Cottage provides a perfect base for an unforgettable Donegal holiday.
