Kate's Cottage - Fanad

Kate's Cottage is an ideal base to explore the natural scenic beauty of the unspoilt Fanad peninsula. This newly built holiday home overlooks Ballyhiernan Bay where you can join an ISA approved surf school, stroll on the wide sandy beach or explore the rocks leading to Rinboy strand. A local shop and restaurant is only 5 minutes drive by car.

Dunaff Head's rugged cliffs can be seen across Lough Swilly from Fanad Head and Lighthouse.The Great Arch at Pollet and the sea caves at Doaghbeg beach are worth a visit on the 7 mile route to Portsalon village and golf course.

Portsalon

At Portsalon pier a water sports centre provides kayaks, pedal boats, wetsuits and boogie boards. Fanad Drive provides spectacular views along the coast road to historic Rathmullan where you can charter a boat or catch the ferry to the Inishowen Peninsula and on to attractions such as Ballyliffin golf course and Doagh Famine Village.

The cottage is a short drive from Downings and Carrigart on the Rosguil Peninsula via the Harry Blaney bridge - this area offers sailing, golf, indoor pool with gym, childrens soft play and horse riding.

Kerrykeel

Kerrykeel village offers a selection of pubs and eateries along the shores of Mulroy Bay. Botanists and artists will find a vast array of wild plants, breathtaking landscapes, stunning sunsets and night skies are a sight to behold!

Golf in the Area

For the keen golfer Kate's Cottage is ideally located between two of the finest links courses in the North West of Ireland.  The two superb links courses at Rosapenna Golf Club are 15km away via the new Bridge and the wonderful Portsalon Golf Club is a 10 km drive along the shores of Lough Swilly. Blue Flag beaches are located beside both golf clubs

The northern tip of the Fanad Peninsula is an area of remarkable scenic beauty with narrow winding roads, small lakes, sandy beaches and areas untouched by modern society. Kate's Cottage is an ideal base to explore this beautiful part of Donegal

The fully equipped kitchen is further enhanced by light from the adjacent sunroom. Laundry facilities are housed in a separate utility room. The kitchen has an additional tv (for playing dvds)

The living room features a multi-fuel stove and has panoramic views over Ballyhiernan Bay towards the Atlantic Ocean. At Ballyhiernan beach there is a surf school operated by Adventure One.

Kate's Cottage occupies an elevated site and has panoramic views over the north Fanad Peninsula and Ballyhiernan Bay.

Booking deposit (non-refundable) of euro100 per week - with balance to be paid four weeks prior to the letting period.
