Keadue Cottage - Fanad: Keadue Cottage is a traditional thatched 2-bedroom blacksmith’s cottage, which is over 100 years old, and has been caringly restored. Set in its own picturesque 1/2 acre site on the shores of an inlet of Mulroy Bay, the cottage has a large garden with impressive views of the Knockalla Mountains from the front stable door. This beautiful cottage can accommodate 3 / 4 adults and 2 children and is ideal for that special holiday in Donegal. This picture postcard cottage, which has featured in many calendars, has a unique charm that impresses all visitors and is an idyllic touring base for this beautiful part of Donegal.

This authentic blacksmith’s cottage, which was re-thatched in 2008 using Irish Reed, is in an idyllic countryside setting with the garden running into Mulroy Bay and has beautiful views of the local mountains. The cottage is named after the adjacent old masonry Keadue Bridge which can be viewed from the garden.

The focal point of the cottage is the welcoming open fire complete with its original cooking utensils. The original crook is still intact along with the various cooking pots that add a romantic charm. The cottage has been developed to provide modern amenities without losing its traditional appeal.  

The cottage is located in the beautiful Fanad Peninsula which runs north from the town of Milford to Fanad Head and on its eastern shores is the famous Knockalla Coast Road which has spectacular views of Lough Swilly and the Inishowen Hills. Many of Donegal’s tourist attractions are a short drive away, including Fanad Head Lighthouse, Portsalon Harbour/Beach and Glenveagh National Park .

The area has some of the most beautiful and unspoiled beaches in Ireland, including the blue flag Magherawarden Beach as well as numerous bays and small lakes. Keadue Cottage is an ideal location for hill walking, touring, golfing, pony trekking, surfing, fishing or just getting away from the hustle and bustle of modern day life.
