Views from the front of the holiday home sweep spectacularly over Dunfanaghy towards the majestic Horn Head Peninsula and the restless Atlantic Ocean beyond. The views are truly panoramic – stretching from Tory Island and New Lake in the west to Horn Head and Sheephaven Bay in the east. These wonderful view can be enjoyed from the conservatory, the wonderful first floor minstrel gallery, the luxurious master bedroom and the ground floor living room (with floor to ceiling windows).
Kill Mountain Cottage is centrally located along the North Donegal coastline. Mountain climbing and hill walking are popular in this spectacular landscape with Muckish, Errigal and the Derryveagh mountains all easily reachable. There are also a number of beautiful coastal and forest walks in the region - including numerous walking trails in the wonderful Ards Forest Park. Even closer to the holiday home is the dramatic Horn Head Peninsula which features a stunning scenic drive and numerous scenic walks. The entire peninsula has been designated as an Irish Natural Heritage Area and a Refuge for Fauna (specifically sea birds)
The area around the holiday home is renowned for its golden sandy beaches. The holiday home overlooks the superb Blue Flag Killahoey beach which stretches along the length of Dunfanaghy Golf Links. In addition to Killahoey there are other fine beaches in this beautiful part of Donegal – Tramore, Portnablagh, Marble Hill, Falcarragh and Ards.
Dunfanaghy now has a well established Festival programme which runs throughout the year and includes a Seafood Festival, a Jazz and Blues Festival and a Halloween Madness Festival.
The holiday home features an open plan ground floor with stylish kitchen and dining area. The fitted kitchen features modern conveniences including electric oven and gas hob, dishwasher, fridge/ freezer and microwave – plus all the cutlery, crockery and glassware you would require. The dining area has a large dining table and 6 stylish chairs. There is also a small dining table and 4 chairs in the beautiful conservatory.
The bright living area features large windows which offer superb views over the North West Donegal coastline near Dunfanaghy. From the comfort of the luxury furniture suite you can just sit back and watch this beautiful landscape. An open fireplace creates a warm ambience.
Stairs lead from the open plan ground floor lead to a lovely minstrel gallery upstairs. The minstrel gallery looks below onto the living area and also towards the coastline through 2 large velux windows.
The holiday home has 3 bright and spacious bedrooms to sleep 6 people very comfortably. In addition there is a double sofa bed in the large minstrel gallery that could accommodate another 2 people.
The master bedroom is located on the first floor and enjoys stunning views over Dunfanaghy Village and Golf Links towards Sheephaven Bay and the spectacular Horn Head Peninsula. This wonderfully spacious bedroom has excellent ensuite facilities and a walk-in wardrobe. On the ground floor there 2 more roomy bedrooms - a double and a twin. These are adjacent to the bathroom which has a bath and separate shower
