Lana House is a lovely four bedroom holiday home that can sleep up to eight. It is situated only a few mins. walk from all 3 hotels which makes it an ideal base for wedding guests.
Facing west, it is a double storey dwelling with a ground floor entrance hallway, a lounge with an open fireplace, bedroom, kitchen and a small utility room. Upstairs, we find a small landing, a main bathroom, en-suite bathroom, and three bedrooms. The two west, front-facing bedrooms have an adjoining door between them, and there are sea views through the windows.
The interior is surprisingly spacious, and the well appointed fixtures and fittings are finished to a high standard, with careful attention to detail. The holiday home is fully insulated, double glazed and heated with oil fired central heating. Electricity, central heating, bed linen and towels are all included. The TV has DVD, and SKY reception, and there is another TV in the master bedroom.
Outside, the house is fronted with a tar-paved parking space for two cars. The rear has a lovely private, wooden fence-enclosed gravelled yard, with a decked-patio area.
Being in the centre of Ballyliffin Village, the holiday home is very conveniently placed, and is within walking distance of all the local amenities, including the shops and hotels.
The beach is a little over 1km down the road, and is a beautiful crescent shaped stretch of sand and pebble with the constant surge of the Atlantic waves crashing on it shoreline. Depending on weather and tide, wind, kite and wave surfers will find some good rides here. The beach stretches in a north easterly curve for just on 2 miles, and is also a good walk.
The main attraction around which Ballyliffin owes its growth is the nearby Ballyliffin Golf Club, famous for its unique two links courses. It is situated on the western side of the Isle of Doagh, and golfers can enjoy views over Pollan Bay, Glashedy Island, and the surrounding hills of Inishowen. A short seven minute drive from the holiday home will get you to the club car park.
Other golf courses on Inishowen can be found at Redcastle, Greencastle and Buncrana, which has a nine hole municipal course, and an 18 hole course at Lisfannon. There is also a course at Culmore in Derry. All of these should be within a 40 minute drive or less.
Also on the Isle of Doagh, just a little further on from the golf course, is the Famine Village, - a unique outdoor museum exhibiting displays of structures, models and tableaux depicting Ireland as it was in the 19th century, particularly during the great famine. The centre is well worth a visit, and is especially appealing to children and the young at heart, when it transforms into Santas Lapland in Nov-Dec. - Early booking for this event is essential to avoid disappointment.
Ballyliffin has five hotels, all within walking distance, - very convenient if you fancy a meal in one of the restaurants, or a drink in a hotel bar. The golf club also has good catering facilities. If you would prefer the environment of the traditional Irish pub, a short drive down the road to Clonmany, will give you a choice of 8 pubs. Many of them will have traditional Irish music performed live on different nights of the week.
If you are in the area in late July, early August, be sure to attend the Clonmany Festival, which is now in its 43rd year. Providing fun and games every year, some of the top Irish Artists perform, plus a variety of other events takes place over the weekend for all the family.
The neat kitchen is situated at the rear, on a ceramic tiled floor, it is fully fitted with modern storage units and appliances which include, a gas hob, stainless steel sink, microwave, double electric eye-level ovens, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, kettle, toaster and essential crockery, cutlery and cookware. The dining table has four chairs, and a small utility room has the washing machine, iron and ironing board.
The backyard is a lovely private space, fully enclosed by wooden fencing, and has a decked patio area, with a gravelled surround.
Facing the front of the cottage, on the west side, the lounge receives the warm afternoon light.
It has attractive, clear-varnished, solid wood pine floors surrounding a rustic stone built open fireplace. Furnishings include two comfortable two seat couches and one armchair, all covered in a matching fabric. The TV has a DVD and SKY reception, and there is also a CD-radio stereo.
There are four bedrooms to sleep up to eight.
The one downstairs bedroom has two single beds.
The three upstairs bedrooms all have double beds.
The master bedroom has an en-suite.
Two of the upstairs bedrooms facing the front west have an inter-leading door connecting them, - and there are sea views.
The main bathroom is upstairs. It has a separate shower, basin and toilet.
The upstairs en-suite also has a separate shower, basin and toilet.
There is no bath.

Congratulations on an absolutely wonderful site! I was going crazy researching availability on other sites - that did not state price, no. of rooms, bathroom facilities often (even after clicking three or four links) and also did not follow a pattern for each entry. Your site is delightful. I could go through all pages of entries and with the price details given immediately did not need to waste time over entries not within my budget.
