Largy House is an established, south facing residence with three bedrooms to sleep up to seven. The house has been part of this landscape for generations and has benefited from improvements and additions over the years.

It has for most of its life been a family home, and continues to exude an aura of warmth and 'homeliness'. One finds it is easy to relax and unwind here; - like spending time with an old friend. A 'home from home'.

On entering, one finds a lounge on the left, and a dining room to the right.  A central passage separates the front rooms from the rear, where the kitchen, main bathroom and utility room are found. A narrow stairwell brings one to the upper floor, where the three bedrooms are located; each with an en-suite (shower in 2 rooms), and there are sea views from the two front rooms.
Outside, a neat, mature, landscaped garden to the front and side, while a cement paved area at the back allows parking for four cars.

The property is situated on the lower slopes of a hill known as 'Crownarad', at an elevation about 75metres above sea level. It looks south over Donegal Bay, and on a clear day, the impressive angular profile of Ben Bulbin, in county Sligo is clearly visible on the horizon.

The panoramic coastal sea views are breathtaking, and a vantage point is located just across the road, from where tourists frequently stop to enjoy the view. Needless to say, the house makes an ideal touring base from which to explore this beautiful part of south Donegal.

The house lies just off the R236 coastal road, and is roughly midway between Killybegs to the east and Kilcar to the west. Either town is no more than 7kms or 10 minutes drive.

The nearest sandy beach is at Fintragh, a 3 minute drive, and within walking distance. (see bottom picture.) There are many other beaches, bays and coves along this coastline just waiting to be explored. Perhaps the most impressive coastal feature to be found anywhere in Ireland, are the sea cliffs of Slieve League; said to be the highest in Europe, they are a 40 minute drive to the west. (Turn south at Carrick.)

If you want a change from cooking or preparing your own meals, take a short walk to Kitty Kellys; a lovely 200 year old farmhouse restaurant, specialising in fresh seafood, Irish Cuisine and a selection of pastas. There is also the Blue Haven Hotel, bar and restaurant a little further west. For a little more variety, a short drive into Killybegs will allow a choice between: 'No.22', Clock Tower Bar & Bistro, Melly's, Ship's Inn, Castlemurray House, Turntable Restaurant, Tara Hotel; and more.

While in Killybegs; visit the Maritime & Heritage Centre, where there are models, displays and audio-visuals of the local fishing and maritime history of the area. This was the site of the famous Killybegs Carpet factory, and the worlds biggest hand knotted carpet loom can still be seen, along with fascinating live demonstrations of hand knotted carpet weaving.

Take a walk around the harbour area, where you can spend hours observing the activities of the fishing boats, and perhaps spot the occasional seal.

A good way of seeing the coast is to view it offshore, from a boat. You can do this by taking a trip on the 'Donegal Bay Waterbus'; a one and a half hour cruise in the bay from where one can view historic and scenic points of interest, including old abbeys, a seal colony, and the Bluestack Mountains.
