
Luí Na Gréine is from the Irish for sunset, appropriately, the rear of the home faces west, affording spectacular coastal and sunset views, depending on the weather and time of day.
The holiday home is a large and spacious, luxury, newly built dwelling, with five bedrooms to sleep up to eleven. It has two en-suites, a shower room and a main bathroom.
Solid wood flooring upstairs, and polished light marble cover the downstairs floors. There is a lounge with a traditional open fireplace and a flat screen plasma TV a large kitchen, a sun room and a utility room. Outside, a patio area to the rear, and a gravelled parking area in front. The holiday home can easily accommodate a large family or a group.
Situated in the Carrick area just a bit north of Derrybeg and about 1km south of Teach Jack, off the R257, - the main coastal road between Gweedore and Gortahork. There are many small islands just off shore, notably, Gola, Inishmeane, Inishsirrer and Inishfree lower.
The area is known as The Rosses, and also lies within the Donegal Gaeltacht, a predominantly Irish speaking area. In the long evenings locals and visitors gather in the villages pubs to listen to live traditional music - indeed this area is the heartland of such renowned groups as Altan and Clannad.
The landscape is rugged with an indented coastline of spectacular sandy beaches, bays, coves, inlets and offshore islands, and about 130 fresh water lakes, making the area something of an anglers paradise. Anglers can also enjoy off-shore sea fishing, by renting or hiring a boat.
Trips can be arranged to visit some of the islands, and ferry services operates from Burtonport to Arranmore island, and from Bunbeg to Gola and Tory Island, off the North West coast.
A good selection of restaurants in the area, especially sea-food, such as Ostan Gweedore and Teach Jack in Glassagh, and Skippers Tavern and the Lobster Pot in Burtonport being well worth a visit. Traditional music sessions can be found in the local pubs nightly.
Golf, - At Gweedore, Dunfanaghy, Cloughaneely and Cruit Island. - all nearby. Horse riding, Hill walking or rambling, swimming, surfing, sub-aqua diving and sailing.
Places of interest and sight seeing. The whole county is abundant with natural scenic beauty, but we will mention just three here, all within a twenty minute drive, and not far from each other.
Mt Errigal, On a clear day, it is visible in the east, being Donegals highest peak, cone shaped like a mini Mt Fuji, it presents a challenging climb, rewarded with spectacular views at the summit.
Dunlewy Lakeside Centre, much to see and do, with a restaurant, tea room, craft shop, horse riding, adventure play area, guided tours, weaving demonstrations etc.
Glenveigh National Park, - consists of over 16,000 acres of Mountains, Lakes, Glens and Woods, and is famous for its fine herd of Red Deer. The Central feature is the 19th Century Castle surrounded by the famous Glenveigh Gardens.
The big kitchen is situated to the rear west side of the cottage, and adjoins a large sun room on the south side. Polished marble floor tiles add to the light expansive feel of the space. The fully fitted kitchen has a large electric range and oven set into its own separate area.
Other appliances include a dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer, kettle and toaster. Essential crockery, cutlery and cookware are also provided. A separate utility room has a washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board. - and a toilet and washbasin. The kitchen has a table and four chairs, suitable for casual light meals, while the sun room has a larger dining table with seating for six, but enough space for eight. The sun room also has two comfortable leather sofas, and great views towards the coast, - the French Doors open on to an external patio area. The patio has suitable outdoor patio furniture, with an umbrella, and there is a barbeque.
The lounge, like the rest of the ground floor, has a floor tiled in a light polished marble. There is the traditional open fireplace, comfortable upholstered sofa and armchairs, and a 37inch flat screen plasma TV with DVD . A cd-radio-stereo player is also provided.
The holiday home can sleep up to eleven in five bedrooms.
There are four upstairs bedrooms.
The one downstairs bedroom has a double bed and an en-suite.
The main downstairs bathroom has a large corner bath, a basin and a toilet.
The two en-suites each have a shower, basin and toilet.
An upstairs shower room has a shower, basin and toilet.

Congratulations on an absolutely wonderful site! I was going crazy researching availability on other sites - that did not state price, no. of rooms, bathroom facilities often (even after clicking three or four links) and also did not follow a pattern for each entry. Your site is delightful. I could go through all pages of entries and with the price details given immediately did not need to waste time over entries not within my budget.
