The house is a charming holiday home that is superbly located right in the heart of the beautiful holiday village of Rathmullan in North West Donegal

Within a 500 meters radius of the holiday home you have a fine sandy beach, a pier with a small marina, the Rathmullan to Buncrana car ferry, the Flight of the Earls Heritage Centre, 3 excellent and welcoming pubs in the White Harte, Beachcomber and Huidie's, two renowned local restaurants An Bonan Búi and The Water's Edge, Salt and Batter a top class fish and chip shop, an antiques shop (see photo, below right) and a coffee shop An Stád. A major renovation of the beach front area was concluded in the summer of 2006.

Also close at hand are the Golden Sands Equestrian Centre which caters for experienced and novice horse enthusiasts alike and the Flight of the Earls Heritage Centre which will this year be marking the 400th Anniversary of the great historical event.

Rathmullan also has 2 fantastic hotels, Rathmullan House and Fort Royal which offer excellent bar food and award winning restaurants. For those wanting pampered on their break full beauty treatments and massage are available at Rathmullan House and also the The Looking Glass just fifty metres from the house.

For the golf enthusiast the cottage is centrally located to play the great links courses of North Donegal. Portsalon Golf Club is 20 minutes along the breathtaking Knockalla coast road while the two championship courses at Rosapenna are just half an hours drive away. The car ferry brings the two superb courses at Ballyliffen within a 50 minutes journey from the cottage.

The house is a perfect base for major events such at the Donegal International Car Rally (June) and the Earrigal Arts Festival (throughout July and August).

The house is also an ideal base from which to explore the beautiful landscapes of the Fanad and Inishowen Peninsulas by car, taking in the stunning scenery of the Knockalla coast road.
Donegal’s principal town Letterkenny is a 20 minute drive away with all the needs of the shopper taken care of and the Arena 7 leisure complex to cater for kids.
