Mary Doalty's Cottage is a superb modern holiday cottage situated just outside the charming village of Bunbeg in the centre of the West Donegal Gaeltacht. The cottage is built on the site of an old cottage - Mary Doaltys - and some of the original walls have been retained. The exterior of the house pays homage to the traditional style of Irish farmhouse cottage. This traditional style exterior opens into a modern interior full of charm and character.
The cottage is set in a tranquil rural location . There are spacious grounds around the cottage which makes it a safe play area for children. The cottage overlooks a small secluded valley which has recently been landscaped.
The holiday home has been designed to ensure a relaxing and comfortable holiday experience. It can accommodate up to 7 people in both style and comfort. There are 2 ensuite double rooms, a twin room and a single room. All are spacious and furnished to a high standard.
The emphasis throughout this luxurious holiday home is very much on space and comfort. The superb kitchen area will ensure that your self catering experience will be as stress free as possible. The flag floor in the kitchen and living room adds real character to the cottage.
The cottage is an ideal base to explore the natural beauty of West Donegal. Local activities in the Bunbeg area include fishing (freshwater and deep sea), golf, swimming and hill walking - Errigal and the Derryveagh mountains are only 15 minutes drive away. There are a number of fine beaches in the locality. A trip to one of the local islands - Gola, Tory or Inishbofin - is a great way to spend a day.
The cottage is located in the heart of Donegals main Gaeltacht area - enabling the visitor to absorb the culture and heritage of this unique region where Irish is still the main everyday language.
Some of the main attractions in this part of Donegal include the magnificent Glenveigh National Park and the family orientated Dunlewey Lakeside Centre. This centre has lots of different attractions to keep all the family entertained - childrens play area, farm yard, boat trips, craft shop, weaving house, audio visuals, etc.
Whether you come as a family or in a small group - a Donegal fáilte (welcome) awaits you at Mary Doaltys

It has an elegant dining table with 6 chairs and also a large island unit with 4 stools. The flag floor adds character to this wonderful room.
The living room in the cottage is wonderfully spacious. By using a flag floor, stone fireplace, traditional style windows and fixtures, and a luxury leather suite this room manages to combine the ease of modern living with the charm of a bygone era. For your entertainment there is a TV and DVD Player.
The ground floor bedroom in the cottage has ensuite facilities, a writing desk, tv and carpeted floor. There are 3 more luxury bedrooms upstairs - a double, a twin and a single. The double bedroom is ensuite - otherwise all the bedrooms have similar facilities.

I travel a lot so I'm always looking for interesting places to stay - anything to avoid another carbon copy hotel - and this has got to be one of the best local travel sites I've seen. Plenty of detail, tons of photos, excellent location info and clear pricing - everything I need to make an informed call. Great job and I'll be recommending the site to anyone else I know who's travelling in Donegal.
