Mountain View Cottage is a recently built unit in the Aughrim Heights Estate in Ballyliffin. Located in a secure, quiet area, with views of the surrounding hills, one is within easy reach of the village, the beach and the famous Ballyliffin Golf Course. A perfect location for the golf enthusiast, Ballyliffin has not just one; but two links. The Classic Old Links, and the new Glashedy Links, and only a 3 minute drive away.

If you prefer something other than golf, you will not be disappointed, as there are very many outdoor pursuits to be enjoyed: - Hill walking, pony trekking, sailing, surfing, swimming, scuba diving, to mention but a few.

Local attractions include The Isle of Doagh 'Famine Village'; - a 7 minute drive, just on the other side of the golf course. - A visit to this outdoor museum is not to be missed. Telling of life in 1840's Ireland during the famine, with replica buildings of the period and featuring resident singers, dancers and musicians from June to August. In December the centre transforms itself into 'Santa's Grotto' and is very popular for young and old alike. Be sure to book your accommodation early for this event! One can enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Inishowen Peninsula by driving the 'Inishowen 100', a route which takes one on a circuitous scenic drive around the peninsula. There are many towns and villages along the route for rest and refreshment stops, and one will find so much of interest, it unlikely that the trip be completed in one day.

Visitors from (and to) Northern Ireland will have easy access to Ballyliffin via the car ferry which connects to the eastern side of the peninsula at Greencastle from Magilligan Point. A similar car ferry service operates on the western side of the peninsula at Buncrana, connecting to West Donegal at Rathmullan. (only in the summer months.)

For visitors from outside Ireland, Ballyliffin is a 2 hour drive from Belfast International Airport, (depending on traffic) or about 40 minutes from Derry City Airport.
