No.6 Newpark is located close to the centre of Carndonagh, the main market town of north Inishowen. All amenities, shops, pubs, cafes etc are within easy walking distance. Tastefully furnished throughout and equipped to the highest standards, this property provides the ideal touring base for your family holiday or perhaps golfing group - Ballyliffin Golf Course is only a 7 min drive away. There are numerous sandy beaches in the area - with those at Culdaff, and Ballyliffin easily accessible by car. The fabulous Five Fingers Strand, featuring the highest sand dunes in Europe, is a 10 min drive northwards via the neat village of Malin.

Ballyliffin Golf Course

A 7 minute drive from No.6 Newpark will bring you to the fabulous Ballyliffin Golf Club. The two golf links courses at Ballyliffin have been described as the "Ballybunion of the North". Both courses have large undulating greens, deep bunkers and fairways that are as challenging as the nearby crashing Atlantic surf.

Doagh Island Famine Village

Doagh Famine Village with its outdoor museum and displays of the 19th century Irish famine on display ia a must see attraction. November and December sees it transforms into Lapland which proves very popular for families throughout the country.

The area is also ideally located for walks, hill walking and countryside rambling. The beach at Culdaff is suitable for surfing and is popular with enthusiasts throughout the northwest.

Local Attractions / Activities

  • Take a trip around the famous Inishowen 100 This is one of Ireland's most scenic drives. The route includes dramatic coastal scenery plus a fine collection of ancient forts and monuments, traditional craft centres, and a dozen or so friendly villages. Scenic highlights include the Gap of Mamore, and Malin Head -  Ireland's most northerly point
  • Play golf at the internationally renowned Ballyliffin Golf Club.  Other fine golf courses on the Inishowen Peninsula can be found at Greencastle, Redcastle and Buncrana.
  • Visit the Doagh Visitor Centre. This centre provides a great variety of exhibitions telling the story of the Irish Famine. It is also a place where the local customs, traditions, folklore and history of the Inishowen Peninsula are preserved in a permanent way
  • Enjoy beautiful unspoilt beaches on the Inishowen Peninsula – Culdaff,  Five Finger Strand, Shrove, Kinnagoe
  • Visit the Fort and Military Museum at Dunree.
  • Enjoy a meal at Mc Grory’s of Culdaff. This renowned establishment features an award wining restaurant, traditional bar with regular Irish Music Sessions and the  famous Backroom - one of Ireland's leading live music venues
  • Visit the the Inishowen Maritime Museum in Greencastle, which includes a state-of-the-art planetarium
  • Use the car ferry at Greencastle to explore the northern coasts of Derry and Antrim - including the Giants Causeway and Bushmills
