No 2 Breffni Cottages is a beautiful modern holiday home located in a quiet cul de sac in the holiday village of Rathmullan. The holiday home is literally a stones throw from the shores of Lough Swilly and enjoys spectacular sea views across the Lough towards Inch Island. It is also within easy walking distance of the village centre and the beautiful sandy beach  that stretches northwards from the harbour area

The cottage has luxury accommodation for up to 8 people There are two ensuite double  bedrooms on the ground floor. On the first floor there are two very spacious double bedrooms. Both theses have a small window balcony that offer superb panoramic views of Lough Swilly  - The Lake of Shadows -  a view that includes Portnamurry – the small bay from which the Irish Earls departed in 1607 . This  “Flight of the Earls” is regarded as a pivotal event in Irish – and indeed European -  history.

The superb Waters Edge Restaurant and Bar is only 200 metres from the holiday home. Here you can enjoy excellent bar food or top class dining in a superb setting. A short  walk brings you into the centre of Rathmullan village. Rathmullan is now one of the most popular destinations in Donegal for family holidays. In addition to a safe sandy beach the village has several fine restaurants and a selection of lively pubs. Horse riding can be enjoyed at the Golden Sands Equestrian Centre. There are also two modern charter boats based at the local marina - these are used for both sea angling and sightseeing on Lough Swilly. A superb new children's playground is located at the beach entrance.

The Rathmullan to Buncrana car ferry runs during the summer months and brings the majestic Inishowen Peninsula within easy reach of the holiday cottages. Even closer is the beautiful Fanad Peninsula with its rugged coastline and numerous sandy beaches. The magnificent Glenveagh National Park, the enchanting Ards Forest Park, the scenic Atlantic Drive  and the ancient and historic walled city of Derry are all within an hours drive of the cottages.

For the golf enthusiast the cottages are centrally located to play the great links courses of North Donegal. Portsalon Golf Club is 20 minutes along the breathtaking Knockalla coast road while the two championship courses at Rosapenna are just over half an hours drive away. The car ferry brings the two superb courses at Ballyliffin within a 50 minutes journey from the cottages.

•Climb Muckish and Errigal. Mount Errigal, the highest mountain in Donegal is a demanding climb and once on the summit you can see for miles around.
•Visit Glenveagh National Park, with 16,000 hectares of mountains, lakes, wood and bogs. Glenveagh contains the largest red deer population in Europe.  Within the National Park Glenveagh Castle and gardens are well worth a visit on their own
•Find numerous peaceful roads, country lanes and mountain tracks to walk
