No 3 Glencoss Cottages is a wonderful holiday home situated on an elevated site overlooking  a delightful green valley that slopes gently down towards the shores of Lough Swilly. Sheltered by mature trees the cottage has a large enclosed garden -   a safe playground for both children and pets. The rural setting of this charming holiday home will ensure a peaceful and relaxing holiday.

From the holiday home a 10 minute walk along a lovely country road brings you to the Kinnegar Strand – a wonderful sandy beach that never gets too crowded. This beach leads to Rathmullan’s beautiful tree lined beach. Along the length of this beach you will find two excellent hotels - the 4 star Rathmullan House Hotel and the 3 star Fort Royal Hotel. Both hotels have excellent restaurants.

The village of Rathmullan itself is approximately 1.5 km from the cottage - a pleasant walk by either beach or road - or a short drive. This picturesque seaside resort is now one of the most popular family holiday destinations in the North West of Ireland. There are several fine restaurants in the locality in addition to lively and friendly pubs –  in the Beachcomber Bar  you can enjoy both  excellent bar food and stunning views of Lough Swilly and Inch Island  

At the pier there is a small marina and also a car ferry that links Rathmullan with Buncrana during the summer season. The small marina is the base for two modern sea charter boats that are used for deep sea angling and sightseeing tours of Lough Swilly. Fishing of Rathmullan Pier is a popular activity. The wonderful beach is safe for bathing and is excellent for water sports. Hill walking and horse riding are  also popular local activities
 

The holiday cottage is also an ideal base to explore the natural beauty of North Donegal. The spectacular landscapes of the Fanad,  Rosguill and Inishowen Peninsulas, the unspoilt Donegal Highlands, the magnificent Glenveagh National Park and the ancient and historic walled City of Derry are all with an hours drive of the cottage.

•Climb Muckish and Errigal. Mount Errigal, the highest mountain in Donegal is a demanding climb and once on the summit you can see for miles around.
•Visit Glenveagh National Park, with 16,000 hectares of mountains, lakes, wood and bogs. Glenveagh contains the largest red deer population in Europe.  Within the National Park Glenveagh Castle and gardens are well worth a visit on their own
•Enjoy pony trekking at the Golden Sands Equestrian Centre
•Find numerous peaceful roads, country lanes and mountain tracks to walk
