Ocean View - Ardara

Ocean View is a beautiful self catering establishment which consists of the entire ground floor of a modern holiday home. As the name suggests, this self catering accommodation is located in a coastal setting overlooking the ocean.  The coastal setting in question is the spectacular Loughros Point in South West Donegal -  and the view is the  Atlantic Ocean. For those seeking an activity based holiday, fishing, golf, and horse riding are in close proximity.

The Accommodation

Ocean View is ideal for 2 or 4  people.   It consists of a large ensuite bedroom, kitchen and dining room, living room and beautiful conservatory. You can enjoy an afternoon coffee or an evening drink relaxing on the patio overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.  There is an upstairs bedroom with ensuite which has a spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean also available on request. All rooms to the front of this beautiful holiday rental enjoy wonderful sea views.  A two minute stroll along a country lane will bring you down to a totally unspoilt beach.

Loughros Point

Loughros Point is a long narrow peninsula located to the west of the town of Ardara. Ocean View is situated in the townland of Drimirrin. On the way out from Ardara town to the holiday home there are spectacular views of the Loughros Estuary and high moorlands on one side and the Bluestack Mountains on the other. The narrow winding county lanes throughout the peninsula are ideal walking terrain.

Maghera beach, the spectacular white sands across the estuary, is a 30 minute drive from the holiday rental – though think of it as a venue for a bracing stroll rather than a leisurely dip, since the currents can be treacherous.

Ardara - A Heritage Town

Less than a 10 minute drive from Ocean View is the town of Ardara. This is a bustling town situated in the south west corner of County Donegal. The environs of the town is an area rich in history, culture, bounded by stunning landscapes and has an abundance of activities for the holidaymaker. Ardara is a traditional centre for weaving and knitwear production. Its historical importance has been recognised in the granting of Heritage status to the town.  The visitor will find a number of excellent restaurants in the locality as well as friendly pubs – several of which feature traditional music sessions
