Originally the local area primary school this property was built in 1920 and converted to residential approx 30 years ago. The current owners have modernized within the last 4 years. It offers quaint but modern accommodation within a mature site which is completely private but convenient to all local attractions. Dunfanaghy town is just 2.5 km away with a selection of bars, restaurants, shops, hotels, beaches and golf course.

Dunfanaghy offers many attractions including The Workhouse, where you can learn of life during the famine years in Ireland.  Fishing on the new lake and deep sea fishing can be arranged through the very popular and well known Arnold hotel.  The old school house is just a 2 minute drive to the Marble Hill Strand and Ards Forest Park. The Cove restaurant is also just a 2 minute drive away.  We offer our cottage as pet friendly with the facility to keep your pets secure during their stay - however we do not permit them indoors.

Portnablagh

The seaside village Portnablagh with its small fishing harbour is located along the spectacular north coast of County Donegal. From the shoreline at the harbour you look out over the broad expanse of Sheephaven Bay towards to imposing cliffs of Horn Head. The Atlantic waters are ideal for sea fishing and boats can be chartered at the harbour. For fresh water fishing, the beautiful Sessiah Lake is located above the village - you can fish here or just take a leisurely walk along its shores.

Local Area

To the south of the village is the excellent Ards Forest Park, hundreds of acres of open space, woodland, seashore and nature trails - open to the public throughout the year. A kilometre to the north you'll find the popular seaside village of Dunfanaghy with its pubs, restaurants and 18 hole links course. The Dunfanaghy Workhouse combines a famine museum with other facilities including a coffee shop, craft shop and exhibition area.

What they say

This site is a dream to use; it has everything in place in a way that is easy to find. All the information I want is easily accessible and having numerous photos really gives you a good idea of the property. Looked at other sites and after a couple of minutes gave up. Your site has been very well thought through.
