Pine View - Donegal Town

Pine View is a beautiful Bord Failte Approved 4 star old country house owned and run by The McElhinney Family. The House is set on 20 hectares of land 3 miles from Donegal Town and is the perfect place to relax and explore the glorious scenery of Donegal such as the Bluestacks and the Donegal Coastline.

With the friendly hospitality and breathtaking views this luxurious house can make you feel right at home and we are delighted that our guests just love coming back.

The house has all the modern conveniences that you would expect from a 4 star accommodation. It sleeps 8 or 9 people and has four brightly furnished bedrooms with one ensuite, a large fitted well equipped kitchen, a downstairs Bedroom and Bathroom, Tv's in all rooms plus sitting room and kitchen and a DVD player.

Surrounding Area

Donegal is a town in County Donegal, Ireland. Donegal is not the county town of County Donegal, despite being its namesake. Rather, the county town is Lifford, and Letterkenny is the county's largest town. Donegal town is situated at the mouth of Donegal Bay and is overshadowed by the Bluestack Mountains. The town has been bypassed by the N15 and N56 roads. The Irish name translates into English as Fort of the Foreigners (Vikings).

Local Attractions

There are many sandy beaches in the area of Donegal boasting good surfing conditions. Donegal is also used as a base for hill-walking in the nearby Bluestack Mountains. Despite the town's many hotels catering for visitors, it suffers from a lack of social amenities for its local population. Many have to travel to nearby towns such as Letterkenny for facilities like public swimming pools, cinemas and large shopping centres.
