Easy to find with good parking space , and just a few steps from the first of 4 pubs in a row and with great take-away just 30 yards the other way. The Mace convenience store is just at hand as is the local butcher. A different beach for each day of your stay with our favourite being Fintra a couple of km past Killybeggs. Some good restaurants like Castle Murray and the wonderful view, food and service( try Sunday lunch or the seafood lunch) and Kitty Kellys specialising in seafood, beautifully cooked and served with some of the nicest smiles you will ever see. Go to Ardara and call in to Nancys for a tasty lunch and then on to Maghera beach past the waterfall. And the kitchen in the snug is well able to provide any type of meal, with most of the equipment you could ever need. Our stay was completed when the local accordion band paraded past on their charity march from Donegal town. Complete with exuberant marching girls they were brilliant. This memory will last.

Wij verbleven 3 nachten in deze woning en hebben genoten van het goede bed en de goed uitgeruste keuken. Het is er rustig en schoon. Er is veel moois te zien in de omgeving.

"Lovely part of Ireland - surrounded by so many beautiful beaches and quaint little towns. The pace of life is just that little bit slower, just what you want for a relaxing break! The accomodation was the 'icing on the cake'. Family friendly, very clean and reasonably priced. The washing machine really came in handy with the kids' daily visits to the beach - everything is there - even down to the coffee maker! We thoroughly recommend and hope to return again soon"

The Snug is a fantastic place to stay in Dunkineely. Firstly, the accommodation is meticulously clean, has a lovely garden and sea views from the living room and back bedroom. We had a fabulous week there and Sheila has a great folder to browse through if you are looking at things to do, places to visit and eat etc – a guide in itself. The location is great as it is close to Donegal town , Killibegs and Glenties. And don’t forget the highest cliffs in Europe, Sliabh League – truly magnificent on a beautiful day. If you are eating out then “a must do” is the Castlemurray Hotel as “a treat”. In the village itself both Macs Bar and McIntyres are great places to get to know the locals – that’s if they don’t get to know you first!!! We had a great trad night in McIntyres so much so we didn’t want to leave! So all in all The Snug is aptly named and the location spoils you bigtime – we can’t recommend it enough.

We had a fantastic time thank you,and the weather was great too.
We had a couple of great nights in the bar singing etc, such talent about. We had an even better afternoon with people from Dunkineely in Macs bar, watching Donegal beat Cork , What a fantastic match ,and what support, it was brilliant. !!!
We went to a country dance, and were exhausted just watching everyone ,but we joined in and thoroughly enjoyed it.
We went to see the giants causeway, that was fascinating ,took us just over two hrs to drive there but well worth the trip.
The scenery around you is breathtaking sleive league amazing,we were all over the place, and everywhere we went we were met with such welcoming friendly people.
We actually went to castle murray, just for coffee last Sunday, the place was packed out. We sat out in the sun, we spoke to some people who had just had lunch they said it was fantastic ,we had intended to go for a meal on Tuesday as it was my birthday, however,we ended up taking the boat trip in Donegal ,which was good, and then we went to a show called "A slice if Ireland "brilliant, well worth it and great value. Not quite what you would eat at Castle Murray , ( bacon and cabbage ) but our friends loved it ,as Jayne has not been to ireland before,it really did give her a slice of Ireland. I left some brochures at your place.
You could do with a "visitors book" we could have put so much in it.
The apartment was perfect ,very clean, well equipped, well situated, with great views, thank you we enjoyed every moment ,and are all now avid Donegal supporters .!!!

Many thanks once again for a great holiday. This is the one of best equipped cottage we have ever seen. Everything to a high standard. A great base from which to visit al what Donegal has to offer. The view from the master bedroom was like a ever changing painting of Benbulben mountain, St. Johns point and Donegal bay. Looking forward to come back again.

"We are a family of two adults and two children (age 9 and 6) who spent a great week in July at The Snug. It is a lovely comfortable, clean and tidy apartment. It has a great private garden which the children enjoyed playing in and has a nice patio area. There is a great view of Ben Bulben and the sea from the living room and main bedroom. It is definitely the best equipped kitchen we have ever used when on a self catering holiday, down to coffee, tin foil and j-cloths. It is a nice and cosy place and very peaceful. The locals are very friendly and helpful, which is a big help when you are exploring a new place. Dunkineely is a great base for holidaying in Donegal and there is a great variety of things to do, places to see and explore. Also, a great range of places to eat all within a short drive or taxi journey away. Overall we had a great stay here and Sheila was very helpful with giving recommendations of places to visit and running a very nice place. Thanks again Sheila and would definitely recommend a stay there if you want a relaxing holiday."

"We have just recently returned from our stay at The Snug and had a fantastic time. We found the house very comfortable and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The views from the back of the house are fantastic and the children loved playing in the large garden. The village of Dunkineely is lovely and an ideal base - close to the beautiful beach at St John's Point and also near to Killybegs and Donegal town where there is lots to see and do. Shelia was really accommodating (providing a travel cot at short notice) and a pleasure to deal with. We would highly recommend The Snug and look forward to returning soon".

Hi Sheila
We loved everything about The Snug. It is so comfortable and well kitted out and the location is fantastic. The pictures on your website most certainly do not do it justice. Thanks for a lovely stay.

“A REAL GEM”
We stayed at the Snug in Dunkineely over St. Patricks weekend. Our every need was met in this well equipped accomodation. The standard of cleanliness was immaculate. The sea view from my bedroom window was an added bonus. The electric blanket on my bed was a nice touch as was the milk, tea and coffee. There was lots to do in the neighbouring towns of Killybegs and Donegal. In my opinion The Snug is a real gem. I felt very at home during my fantastic stay there. I look forward to visiting in the near future.
