Comforts of home!

Left on Jan 8, 2017 for a stay in Dec 2016
The location is wonderful. Peaceful with stunning views. John and Dolores were very welcoming with stove fire lit and homemade soda bread. The house is spacious and cosy and relaxing. The grandchildren enjoyed John showing them round the farm and meeting with the animals. We enjoyed fresh eggs on a regular basis which were delicious. John also let our dog have a holiday with us as well!

This was our second stay and it was just as enjoyable as the first. A welcoming fire had been lit by John and Dolores provided her lovely homemade brown bread and fresh eggs .
Our grandchildren had great fun feeding the donkeys and playing on the swings and slide, the grown-ups enjoyed the pool table..
The house location is tranquil and private while being central to trips to the beach ( Ballymastocker especially ),Glenveigh National Pk.,etc..
All in all, a brilliant holiday and we can't wait to return..

Stayed here in early July with family of all ages. Excellent accommodation, free range eggs and homemade wheaten loaf in a big kitchen waiting for you on arrival. A pool table to keep all ages amused, and swings and a slide for younger children in the back garden, great gas bbq for use if the weather is kind. John and Dolores are very nice people, John took us all around the farm, the children were fascinated watching the sheep sheering and they also got to see the hens and pick their own freshly laid eggs. A great base to travel around Donegal and beyond with John more than helpful to pass on his own local knowledge and advice to help you to make the most of your stay. Great views of Donegal from the front of the house. Highly recommend for anyone and we will definitely be coming back again as a family.

Lovely owners, great house!"

Can't remember exactly which month i stayed at the house but think it was Feb 2012. a big group of us went, 4 couples and 2 other friends. had a great weekend! the house was so homely and comfortable and the rooms were nicely decorated. so much room for us all with a living room and then sort of another big room off it was a table and chairs and pool table. v good value for money too. the owners were so lovely and friendly. we went to another house in donegal last year and the owners were not polite at all and it made such a difference.... the owners of this house made us all feel so welcome. The house had herbs and a cookbook and plenty of utensils to cook with. it had a cd player too as far as i remember. lovely garden and area around the house too and a decking area. we used the bbq for breakfast also! Would defintely recommend this place. Milford is quite quiet but you don't really go to Donegal for that reason! lots of nice areas near by. we went to a great beach. thanks again.

"Picturesque and peaceful setting away from the busyness of life in beautiful Donegal."

We have just returned home today after a week at Willow farmhouse. We had a wonderful time, the location is just lovely. We were a party of 10, 4 adults and 6 kids ranging from 4-13. The house was big enough for us all and there was plenty of outdoor space to play, including a swing set, slide, football net, trees to climb and a private lane for walks. Every day the kids fed the donkeys with our leftover food and collected fresh eggs from the chickens on John and Dolores farm, scrambled egg every morn yum. On arrival we had fresh wheaten which was lovely. We travelled 3 days to Portsalon beach only 20 minutes away beautiful beach and kids loved the rock pools there, we also visited Downings and Letterkenny. We bbqed 4 nights on gas BBQ and there is a carport for sitting under until bedtime evening during thunderstorms. Gr8 location, gr8 house and owners, highly recommend Willow farmhouse to anyone looking a family holiday in the quietness of Donegal. Useful to know there is a Lidl in Milford too. Thank you John and Dolores.

"The house is a large, spacious, well kept property suitable for a large number of people."

We were welcomed by the owners and shown the property, We were reassured that should we need anything he was available. A beautiful touch was a large home made scone of bread and 12 farm fresh eggs left in the kitchen- it was really appreciated. We were also given a constant supply of turf for the open fire in the living room- a really homely touch. We were having a family wedding from the property and found it to be very suitable both for space on the morning of wedding and also for accommodating the guests whom we entertained after the reception.
The house is located a short distance outside of Milford and although private with beautiful views it is not isolated.
Really enjoyed our stay and the house was admired by the people who visited us.

It felt like coming home."

We had a lovely, warm welcome from John and Dolores. The home-made bread was delicious and much appreciated on arrival. The turf fire in the sitting room was delightful and made things very cosy in the evenings. The turf was replenished regularly by the turf fairy. The farmhouse is very spacious and coped easily with our party of nine. The food in the local pub, The Travellers' Inn," was fantastic and great value for money, unfortunately they only served food at the weekend, as it was off season. The house is located close to the town but in a quiet and idyllic setting. All in all, a fantastic place to re-charge the batteries and we would all hope to return in the not too distant future. Thank you both for your hospitality.

Williow Farmhouse is the ideal house for anyone with children young and old. We have 2 young children and felt the house and surrounding grounds were a very safe environment to let them play without concern. John and Dolores were perfect hosts and we were to feed the donkeys and collect fresh eggs daily. If you want a holiday house which you can feel relaxed, look at beautiful scenary and have the perfect beaches to drive to - this is the house to go to.

A great property with lots and lots of space for children to run around, indoors and outdoors, well away from any roads in   a secluded and tranquil setting. The property has lots of room for storage,   an extra fridge and freezer in the outhouse and best of all, a covered area where we could get the wetsuits dry even if it rained. Milford itself is a   lovely little town in a great position to explore the spectacular beaches on   Fanad. It's got a good butcher and various convenience stores and a supermarket. We hope to book again for next summer.

Upon arrival we were welcomed by dolores with a lovely turf fire blazing and immediately felt at home, the farm house was very cosy and homely with plenty of space for all of us, 11 in total including 2 babies, dolores and john had cots set for us in the rooms so the checking in process was very straight forward and easy, the house was extensively equipped with everything including dishwasher which came in very handy, we were able to bring our sky box to the house and it worked flawlessly, i cant speak highly enough of willow farmhouse and we will definatly be returning in the future.

Thanks John, Dolores and family for making our Christmas so special at your beautiful holiday house. It was such a warm welcome with the lovely turf fire glowing. The Christmas tree and decorations made it perfect for the children.

The go-cart and play area kept the children occupied outdoors in the fine weather. Feeding the animals was such a treat for them.

The kitchen and living room was ideal for those long lazy evenings when our extended family came to visit. The boys enjoyed the snooker table.

Hope to spend many more holidays at Willowfarmhouse.

Thanks for wonderful week-end. Great location for  touring Donegal. Highlilght of week-end was climbing Errigal. Know now why they call it the Hills of Donegal. Loved the house. Very private and safe. The kids had a great time in the wide open space and gathering blackberries, it took me back to my youth.

I will rate it 10/10. See you all very soon.

Thanks John & Dolores for your hospitatily.

The house is perfect for a peaceful break away from it all, has everything, from the glowing turf fire on arrival, welcome pack of home made wheaten bread. We loved the privacy. Great planning.

The walks on the beaches and visiting Glenveagh National Park was just Heaven.

We plan to come back with all our friends as there is ample space and rooms are ensuite.

Had a fantastic time. The house was very suitable for the three families. All the bathrooms were great. We all had our own space. Very private and the children were safe to wander around the open space. We visited losts of beaches and Glenveagh National Park was a favourite with everyone. The girls loved the shops in Letterkenny while the men went fishing.

Thanks for the home made wheaten bread and fresh farm eggs. Definately be back soon amd will tell all our friends about this lovely country cottage in Donegal.

Needed a week-end break, friends told us about your fantastic house. When we arrived on Friday evening the smell of the turf fire brought back childhood memories. We had such a peaceful time, just wandered around the fields and up the hill. The views are out of this  world. Laura and Jake loved the new baby calves and our course the donkey and foals.

Hate the city life now after seeing how beautiful Doneagl countryside is. Promise to be back in the Summer with more family.
