The elevated site of the cottage provides it with stunning  and uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside and the majestic Lough Swilly - "The Lake of Shadows". This beautiful landscape is ever changing with the constantly changing sky.

The holiday home can accommodate up to 9 people. There are two roomy double bedrooms with ensuite facilities. To the front of the house there is a twin bedroom and a bedroom with a triple bunk bed - both enjoy superb views.

The cosy living room and spacious dining room are both to the font of the house. From both rooms you can enjoy the superb panoramic vista that includes Rathmullan Village, Lough Swilly, Inch Island and the Inishowen Hills. Much of this view can also be enjoyed from the elevated - and sheltered - decking area to the side of the house

The village of Rathmullan itself is approximately 1.5 km from the holiday home - a pleasant walk or a short drive. This picturesque seaside resort is now one of the most popular destinations in Donegal for family holidays. In addition to the wonderful sandy beach the village has a selection of lively pubs and  fine restaurants - including the award winning Bunnan Bui Restaurant. Pony trekking can be enjoyed at the Golden Sands Equestrian Centre. There are also two modern charter boats based at the local marina - these are used for both sea angling and sightseeing on Lough Swilly.  An excellent childrens' playground is now located at the harbour area of the village.

The holiday home is also an ideal base to explore the natural beauty of North Donegal. The spectacular landscapes of the FanadRosguill and Inishowen Peninsulas, the unspoilt Donegal Highlands, the magnificent Glenveagh National Park and the ancient and historic walled City of Derry are all with an hours drive of the cottage.
