
Teach Dan Eoin is a comfortable 4 bedroom cottage which has recently been sympathetically restored. It is in the townland of Lettercau, just past Meenamara school. Just 1 mile from Loughanure and 3 miles from Dungloe, the house is on the scenic road and takes you from Dungloe to Crolly, great for cycling, walking and hill climbing.
Loughanure lake is famous for its fishing and is 6km x 1km, permits and boat hire are always available. In Loughanure the local shop is well stocked, the chippy is excellent and always a great atmosphere when the Irish College is opened. You can always be sure of a good pint, good food and good craic in the local pub Casadh n tSugain.
Dungloe and Annagry are all within a 3 mile radius with many festivals throughout the summer months. Leos Tavern, home of Clannad is in nearby Crolly whilst Daniel O'Donnell's home village is Kincasslagh which are both close by.
The Rosses Anglers Association always welcome new members. Boats and Ghillies available if required. There are also numerous golf courses, many safe sandy beaches, ferry from Burtonport to Aranmore Island, Bunbeg to Gola Island and Tory Island etc. Sea fishing trips can also be arranged. Other places to visit include, Dunlewey lakeside activity centre and Glenveagh National Park.
Fish for brown, sea and rainbow trout in some of the 130 lakes in the Rosses area
Go sea angling from nearby Burtonport or from Kincasslagh
Golf at Narin & Portnoo Golf Club or on the charming 9 hole course on Cruit Island
Try surfing at the Dooey Surf School based at Dooey Strand
Go diving from the Inishfree Diving Centre in Burtonport
Find numerous peaceful roads, country lanes and mountain tracks to walk
Try some of the local award winning restaurants in the region - Danny Minnies in Annagry, the Lobster Pot in Burtonport or The Aisling Restaurant in the Ostan na Rossan Hotel
Visit Leo’s Tavern in Meenaleck – the home of world renowned Clannad and Enya
Take a trip around the spectacular Bloody Foreland
Visit Dunlewey Lakeside Centre - Facilities include restaurant, tea-room, craft shop, adventure play areas, pets & animals, storytelling, boat trips on Dunlewey Lake, guided tours and weaving demonstrations.
Take a day trip to Aranmore Island.
Climb Errigal Mountain
Visit Glenveagh National Park, with 16,000 hectares of mountains, lakes, wood and bogs. Glenveagh contains the largest red deer population in Europe. Within the National Park Glenveagh Castle and gardens are well worth a visit on their own
