Rambling Cottages: - One of a newly
built pair. This lovely spacious furnished cottage has all the comforts
of a home from home. Four bedrooms with two en-suite, comfortably sleeps
eight. Centrally located on the magnificent Inishowen Peninsula, just
three miles from Carndonagh, on the road to Quigley's Point and Derry. An
ideal base from which to tour the area. Within easy reach of all that
Inishowen has to offer; from scenic drives to outdoor activities,
including golf, hill walking, pony trekking, wonderful beaches, surfing,
swimming, angling and much more.
Carndonagh is situated 18km North East
of Buncrana and 2km south of Malin town. The name is derived from Carn Domhnach, meaning 'the Cairn of the Parish
of Donagh'. The town has a fine example of an early Christian Cross, known as the
Donagh Cross, which dates from the 7th century. (see picture in collage
below)
Carndonagh is a busy market town and boasts the largest school in
Ireland with over 1800 pupils, one former pupil being the playwright,
Frank McGuinness.
