Red Rock Cottage - Culdaff

Red Rock Cottage is a modern 4 bedroom holiday home located along the coast between Culdaff and Glengad on the Inishowen Peninsula in North East Donegal. From its elevated site the holiday home enjoys superb views over Lough Foyle and the Scottish Islands of Jura and Islay are visable on the skyline. Red Rock Cottage is private and secluded and is a perfect place to relax and get away from the stresses of daily life

The holiday home is  just 4 km from the superb Blue Flag Beach at Culdaff, 8km from Malin Town and just 12 km from Malin Head - Irelands most northerly point. The Inishowen Peninsula separates Lough Foyle from Lough Swilly and its landscape is dotted with numerous lakes and mountains. The countryside of purple heather, small patchwork fields, streams and glens is superb terrain for the enthusiastic walker.

Local Activities and Attractions

• Take a trip around the famous Inishowen 100 This is one of Ireland's most scenic drives. The route includes dramatic coastal scenery plus a fine collection of ancient forts and monuments, traditional craft centres, and a dozen or so friendly villages. Scenic highlights include the Gap of Mamore, and Malin Head -  Ireland's most northerly point
• Play golf on the internationally renowned Ballyliffin Golf Club - just 20 km from the holiday home. Other fine golf courses on the Inishowen Peninsula can be found at Greencastle, Redcastle and Lisfannon near Buncrana
• Visit the Doagh Visitor Centre. This centre provides a great variety of exhibitions telling the story of the Irish Famine. It is also a place where the local customs, traditions, folklore and history of the Inishowen Peninsula are preserved in a permanent way
• Enjoy beautiful unspoilt beaches on the Inishowen Peninsula – Culdaff, Five Finger Strand near Malin and Shrove. Culdaff is an increasingly popular surfing venue.
• Visit the Fort and Military Museum at Dunree.
• Enjoy a meal at Mc Grory’s of Culdaff. This renowned establishment features an award wining restaurant, traditional bar with regular Irish Music Sessions and the  famous Backroom - one of Ireland's leading live music venues
• Visit the Inishowen Maritime Museum in Greencastle, which includes a state-of-the-art planetarium
• Use the car ferry at Greencastle to explore the northern coasts of Derry and Antrim - including the Giants Causeway and Bushmills.
• Visit the ancient and historic walled City of Derry - a 35 minute drive from the holiday home. Some of the main attractions in the city include the historic walls, the Tower Museum, the Guildhall, The Millennium Forum and the Foyleside Shopping Centre.

The holiday home has a spacious open plan kitchen and dining room. The beautifully crafted kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances. This area has a wood burning stove which helps to make it an excellent venue for entertaining.
