Rosapenna House - Downings: Rosapenna House has been our family holiday home for about seven years. It is very comfortably furnished with gas fired c/h and easy access to golf and beach, being on same side of road as both facilities. For those who don’t want to stir any distance from their holiday base our house is perfectly situated, being equidistant (about two hundred metres) from the famous Rosapenna Hotel with a lovely bar for pre dinner drinks or for five star dining and on the other side the Golf Pavilion with luxury bar and quality food. Both are fully open March to October but do require booking as both are very popular, particularly at weekends.

Rosapenna House is very well situated for those seeking an active sport filled holiday as apart from golf and beach there are, within one kilometre radius, tennis courts, par three pitch& putt course, golf driving range, fully equipped leisure centre with full sized pool, sauna, Jacuzzi, steam room and on same site, for the younger children, Kids Kingdom, an exceptionally well equipped and supervised indoor play area.

And for the evening time, when you may not want to cook every evening, it’s an easy walk (footpath all the way) to Downings Village where there are three family friendly hotel bars for good quality food and drinks. Plus live music at weekends.

McNutts’ café at Downings harbour is a firm favourite for family breakfast and lunch times with a great selection of home cooking on offer. A little further away (3 kilometres) in Carrigart, there are two bar /restaurants and a café with a convenient Centra store
Mickey Joe’s Country Store beside the church, is particularly well stocked for the visitors with a great butchery counter and well stocked freezer compartment, plus wines.  

Nearest Village: Downings 1 kilometre, Carrigart 3 kilometres
Beach: Tramore Beach is a  5 min walk away
Golf Course: Rosapenna – Old Tom Morris course 50 metres from back door. Sandy Hills 200 hundred metres. Green fees for both courses payable at golf pavilion, also 200 metres from house.
