Rosgoill Cottage is situated on its own land of approx 0 .5 acre, an elevated site, at the bottom of a hill called Cnocmore. It is a larger house than it appears from the outside, a practical house, with comfort and easy maintenance, for a stress free, work free holiday, a setting off place for all that is to be seen and done, or just relaxing and enjoying peace of the countryside.

The surrounding area is rugged farm land, green fields, hills, and sea. The house is situated on the Rosgoill peninsula, on the North coast of Donegal, with Sheephaven Bay on one side, and Mulroy Bay on the other. Commencing in Downings and returning just outside Downings on the road to Carrigart. The circular drive around the peninsula is approximately 10miles of panoramic views of sea and mountains, considered to be one of the most beautiful in Ireland 

 

The ground at the back of the house is on an elevated grassy site, a lovely place for sunbathing and picnicking, in privacy. There is a washing line and a wooden bench. A gate which leads to a hill climb were panoramic views can be seen for some miles. A white patio table, chairs and a charcoal barbeque can also be found here.

Downings, is a fishing village, food shop, Hotels, Pubs and holiday resort, with two nice beaches, the Downings bay and Tramore…The famous Mc Nutts Tweed and coffee shop can be found near the Pier, and Golf in the Rosapenna golfing pavilion. Carrigart being our next town for Food and Gift shops, Petrol station, Horse Riding, Pubs, Hotels, Take-a-way, and Peoples Park.

From here you can visit Dunfanaghy, for Art Gallery and Workhouse, a museum of the famine times in Donegal. Visit Horn Head, the outstanding head land with its familiar shape towering over the sea. Drive over the hills to Glenveigh National Park, Castle and Gardens. In Gartan, Derek Hill Artist Home and grounds, visit Tory Island by boat and Relax and enjoy the scenery, walks and Tea Rooms in Ards Capuchin Friary, and many more. As you travel on your way you will experience the beauty of the land, and the friendship of the people.
