No.10 Rossaor Cottage - Ballyliffin

Open FireCot & Highchair

Rossaor Cottage No.10 is a 3 bedroom holiday home located in the heart of the popular holiday resort of Ballyliffin in North East Donegal. The cottage has a wonderful location –  it is just minutes walk from the local hotels,  1km to the superb Pollan Strand and less than 2km from the internationally renowned Ballyliffin Golf Club. You could easily park your car up and leave it untouched for the length of your stay!

With its golden sand, large sand dunes, playground and coastal path Pollan Strand is an idyllic playground for kids of all ages. The beach is popular for walking, swimming, kayaking and kite flying and is fast developing a reputation as a top surfing venue. The  newly revamped playground  at the beach entrance is now complete with new play equipment including wooden climbing frames, play houses and other toys.

Ballyliffin Golf Club

Ballyliffin Golf Club has two superb 18 hole courses – the classic Old Links and the wonderful new Glashedy Links. The Glashedy Links makes the most of a genuinely spectacular location. Designed by Pat Ruddy and Tom Craddock, it has been laid out on mostly higher ground above and beyond the Old Links. The views from both courses are breath-taking. Glashedy  – named after Ballyliffin’s own “Ailsa Craig  – measures over 7,000 yards from the Championship tees with large undulating greens, deep bunkers and fairways that twist and roll between towering dunes. The challenge presented by the Glashedy Links is almost as formidable as it is exciting. The Old Links is a classically old style links. It exudes charm, character and curiosity in equal measure.

The holiday cottage is just 6km from the wonderful  Doagh Famine Village on the Isle of Doagh. The Famine Village is an outdoor museum that tells the story of life in the local area from the time of the Famine back in the 1840s, through the 1900s and right up to the present day. Among the attractions are a Mass Rock and Hedge School,  a Republican Safe House, an Orange Hall and a Presbyterian Meeting House. Also featured is an Irish Wake  and rural life, food and cures told in a humorous way.

What they say

Congratulations on an absolutely wonderful site! I was going crazy researching availability on other sites - that did not state price, no. of rooms, bathroom facilities often (even after clicking three or four links) and also did not follow a pattern for each entry. Your site is delightful. I could go through all pages of entries and with the price details given immediately did not need to waste time over entries not within my budget.
